About Role :

We are looking for a Principal Software Development Engineer to join our Frontend Engineering team and lead the design, development, and evolution of world-class web applications. Reporting to the Manager, Software Development Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Zscalers next-generation user interfaces while mentoring and guiding other engineers.

Responsibilities :

- Architect & Lead Development : Translate UI/UX designs into scalable, secure, and performant ReactJS interfaces, while providing technical mentorship to engineers and fostering innovation

- Design System & Best Practices Champion : Expand Zscalers design systems for reusable, accessible components and drive the adoption of best practices, including automated testing, modular design, semantic coding, and performance optimization

- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Innovation : Partner with backend teams to define API contracts, roadmap frontend-backend integration, evaluate emerging technologies, and drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines with DevOps for streamlined development

- System Refactoring & Engineering Excellence : Proactively identify and lead the refactoring/redesign of legacy systems for scalability and maintainability, with a focus on reliability, accessibility, and research-driven development

What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications) :

- 8+ years software development, 5+ years specializing in large-scale production ReactJS and Redux applications

- Expert in ReactJS development using TypeScript, ES6+, and advanced state management

- Experience building complex UIs, data-heavy dashboards, and advanced data visualizations (e.g., D3.js)

- Expertise in developing extensive unit, integration, and E2E tests (Jest, Enzyme, or Cypress)

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) :

- Extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying large-scale enterprise UI applications, with a focus on high availability, performance, and a seamless user experience for diverse and global customer bases

- Expertise in profiling and optimizing frontend applications for speed, responsiveness, and minimal loading times, leveraging techniques such as lazy loading, code splitting, and tree shaking to improve scalability

- Familiarity with backend principles and practical experience with Node.js or similar for API integration/debugging

- Ability to architect and implement scalable and modular solutions for multi-tenant applications, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and future-proofing system development
