WHO YOU ARE :
Peoplesoft Functional Consultant role will provide technical analysis, design, installation, maintenance and modification of broad/complex computer systems and security platforms. In addition, the position will be responsible for developing design specifications, producing deliverables related to the project(s) assigned and assisting in post implementation support and system enhancements. The Peoplesoft Functional Consultant is responsible for gathering, compiling and synthesizing information with regard to technology processes or systems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO :
- Develop and Customize PeopleSoft Solutions : Create and enhance application components such as Application Engine programs, PeopleCode, SQRs, BI Publisher reports, and interfaces.
- Provide Functional and Technical Support : Troubleshoot and resolve issues across FSCM modules, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Purchasing, and Asset Management.
- Manage System Integrations : Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot interfaces with external systems using Application Engine, file layouts, and Component Interfaces.
- Perform Testing and Validation : Create and execute test plans, scripts, and scenarios for system, integration, and user acceptance testing phases to ensure functionality meets business requirements.
- Monitor and Optimize Performance : Identify performance bottlenecks in queries, batch processes, and reports, and implement tuning solutions for optimal system performance.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders : Work closely with business users, SMEs, and technical teams to gather requirements, resolve issues, and implement system enhancements.
- Support Upgrades and Patches : Assist in planning and executing PeopleSoft upgrades, bundles, and patches to maintain system compliance and introduce new features.
- Provide Security Support : Configure and troubleshoot security setups, roles, permissions, and approval workflows within PeopleSoft.
- Maintain Environments : Oversee QA, Development, and Production environments, ensuring system stability during migrations, maintenance, and disaster recovery scenarios.
- Deliver End-User Support and Training : Respond to user queries, provide troubleshooting assistance, and conduct training sessions to ensure smooth adoption of new features and processes.
- Ensure Compliance and Documentation : Adhere to organizational standards and create comprehensive documentation, including functional and technical specifications.
- Participate in Agile Processes : Contribute to daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring timely delivery of deliverables in an Agile development environment.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED :
- Strong hands-on experience with PeopleSoft FSCM modules (e.g., GL, AP, AR, Cash Management) including Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, and File Layouts.
- Programming Skills : Proficiency in SQR, BI Publisher, SQL, and other reporting tools, with experience creating and modifying custom solutions.
- Problem-Solving Ability : Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot and resolve complex functional and technical issues across FSCM modules.
- System Integration Knowledge : Experience developing and supporting interfaces between PeopleSoft and external systems using web services, XML, or flat files.
- Testing and Validation Experience : Familiarity with creating detailed test plans, scripts, and scenarios for system, integration, and user acceptance testing phases.
- Upgrade and Maintenance Experience : Hands-on involvement in PeopleSoft upgrades, application of bundles and patches, and performing impact analysis.
- Security Configuration Skills : Knowledge of PeopleSoft security, including roles, permissions, and approval workflow configurations.
- Performance Tuning Skills : Ability to analyze and improve system performance, including tuning SQL queries, reports, and batch processes.
- Project Collaboration Skills : Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with business users, SMEs, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Strong Communication Skills : Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and document technical designs clearly and concisely.
- Agile Methodology Knowledge : Understanding of Agile development processes, including participation in standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Educational Background : A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with tools like PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) and Change Assistant.
- Experience with process scheduling utilities like UC4/Atomic.
