Job Title : Application Lead - SAP ABAP (HANA).

Location : Bengaluru, India.

Experience : Minimum 5 years of strong, hands-on experience in SAP ABAP Development for HANA.

Education : Minimum 15 years of full-time education.

Role Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Application Lead to drive the design, development, and configuration of SAP applications. As the primary point of contact, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure application solutions meet business objectives, oversee delivery timelines, and mentor your team to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate is an SME in SAP ABAP on HANA with strong problem-solving skills, solid delivery experience on S/4HANA landscapes, and a proven ability to lead technical decisions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP ABAP development on HANA and be accountable for technical direction and delivery quality.

- Lead, mentor and manage a team of developers - set priorities, review code/design, and drive continuous improvement.

- Collaborate with functional leads, architects, QA, infra, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Own technical decisions and provide timely, pragmatic solutions to complex problems affecting one or multiple teams.

- Design and develop RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows) in S/4HANA environments.

- Build and expose services using OData/UI5 where required and integrate ABAP with HANA artifacts.

- Monitor project progress, identify risks/impediments, and implement corrective actions to meet milestones and deadlines.

- Ensure adherence to coding standards, performance best practices, and release management processes.

- Drive knowledge sharing, training, and upskilling initiatives within the team.

- Provide regular status updates to management and act as escalation point for technical issues.

Professional & Technical Skills (Must-have) :

- SAP ABAP Development for HANA - strong, demonstrable hands-on experience.

- Deep understanding of S/4HANA architecture and migration considerations.

- Experience developing and consuming OData services (Gateway) and integrating with UI5/Fiori where applicable.

- Proven experience building RICEF objects and working across Interfaces and Enhancements.

- Strong knowledge of ABAP on HANA performance tuning (CDS views, AMDP, SQL optimization).

- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working with project management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent).

- Solid debugging, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

- Good understanding of transports, version control, CI/CD pipelines for ABAP (where applicable).
