Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Data Architect with over 17 years of experience to lead the design and implementation of our digital platform's data infrastructure. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the data ecosystem is scalable, secure, and reliable, with a strong focus on leveraging AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis) and Databricks. You will drive cloud strategy, data modeling, governance, performance optimization, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align data architecture with evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Architecture Design : Lead the design and architecture of the digital platform, ensuring the data infrastructure is scalable, secure, and reliable. Focus on utilizing AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis) and Databricks to build a robust, cloud-based data architecture.

Data Integration & ETL Pipelines : Architect and implement ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., transactional databases, third-party services, APIs) into the platform, using AWS Glue, Databricks, and other tools for efficient data processing.

Cloud Strategy & Deployment : Implement cloud-native solutions, leveraging AWS tools and Databricks for data storage, real-time processing, machine learning, and analytics. Design the platform to be cost-efficient, highly available, and easily scalable.

Data Modelling : Develop and maintain comprehensive data models for the platform that support business intelligence, reporting, and analytics. Ensure data model design aligns with business requirements and the overall platform architecture.

Data Security & Governance : Implement robust data governance frameworks to ensure data privacy, compliance, and security in the digital platform. Utilize AWS security tools and best practices to safeguard sensitive data and manage access control.

Platform Performance & Optimization : Monitor and optimize platform performance, including the efficiency of data processing, data retrieval, and analytics workloads. Ensure low-latency and high-throughput data pipelines.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management : Collaborate closely with stakeholders across data engineering, data science, and business teams to align the platform architecture with business needs and evolving technological requirements.

Core Responsibilities (Detailed) :

Planning :

- Lead data solution requirements gathering and ensure alignment with business objectives and constraints.

- Define and refine data architecture runways for intentional architecture with key stakeholders.

- Provide input into business cases and costing for data solutions.

- Participate and provide data architectural runway requirements into Programme Increment (PI) Planning.

Architecture Capability :

- Develop and oversee data architecture views, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.

- Maintain and oversee data solution artifacts in the designated enterprise repository and knowledge portals, aligned with the rest of the architecture.

- Manage data architecture processes based on the requirements for each archetype.

- Manage change impact of the data architecture with stakeholders.

- Develop and participate in the build of the data architecture practice with embedded architects and engineers, including relevant methods, repository, and tools.

- Manage the data architecture considering business, application, information/data, and technology viewpoints.

- Establish, enforce, and implement data standards, guardrails, frameworks, and patterns.

Solution Design :

- Lead and review logical and detailed data architecture designs.

- Evaluate and approve data solution options and technology selections.

- Select appropriate technology, tools, and build strategies for solutions.

- Oversee and maintain data solution blueprints.

- Drive incremental modernization initiatives in the delivery area.

Risk, Governance, and Compliance :

- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks at a data solution architecture level.

- Ensure and enforce compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.

- Lead data architecture reviews and integrate with governance functions.

- Integrate with other governance and compliance functions to ensure continuity in managing investment and risk for the organization pertaining to solution architectures.

- Establish and provide data standards, guidance, and tools to delivery teams.

Implementation and Collaboration :

- Establish and provide data solution architectures and tools to the delivery and data engineering teams.

- Lead and facilitate collaboration with delivery teams to achieve architecture objectives.

- Manage and resolve deviations and ensure up-to-date data solution design documentation.

- Identify opportunities to optimize delivery of solutions.

- Oversee and conduct post-implementation reviews.

- Ensure the data architecture supports CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid and reliable deployment of data solutions.
