Job Description :

Client is seeking a Application Monitoring Engineer to join our Center of Excellence team. In this role, he/she will assist in monitoring applications and infrastructure. The engineer will help track the availability and performance of critical applications, support log analytics, and configure monitoring solutions to ensure system stability.

Additionally, collaborate with application teams to set up alerts, document monitoring processes, and escalate issues to senior engineers when needed. This position offers an opportunity to develop hands-on experience in application observability and performance monitoring while contributing to the reliability of our systems.

Technologies : Application monitoring tools, Java, and GitHub (nice to have)

Process : ITIL and Agile (Scrum/Kanban)

Responsibilities :

- Assist in monitoring applications and infrastructure using tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, and CloudWatch.

- Track the availability and performance of critical applications and websites from an end-user perspective.

- Support log analytics and monitoring setup to ensure visibility into system health and application performance.

- Identify and escalate performance issues, outages, or anomalies to senior engineers.

- Help maintain documentation for monitoring processes and tool usage.

- Work with application teams to understand monitoring needs and assist in configuring alerts.

- Monitor system metrics such as CPU, memory, and disk space to ensure stability.

- Participate in discussions about performance issues and collaborate on solutions.

Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

- 2+ years of experience in application monitoring or IT support.

- Basic knowledge of monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch, Dynatrace, etc.).

- Familiarity with application architectures (.NET, Java, SaaS, AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Understanding of log monitoring and analytics.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Basic knowledge of ITIL practices (incident and problem management).

- Good communication and collaboration skills.
