Description :


We are hiring a Workday Functional Tester with strong expertise in Workday HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, and Payroll Interface testing. The role involves executing structured test cycles for a global Workday ? ADP integration and payroll transformation program across multiple countries.


You will be responsible for validating integrations, performing data checks, documenting defects, working with functional and technical teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery across SIT, UAT, regression, and end-to-end testing cycles.


Key Responsibilities :


Test Planning & Test Execution :


- Execute detailed test scenarios for Workday HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, and Payroll Interface modules.


- Review BRDs, functional specs, and mapping documents to derive test conditions.


- Participate in test plan creation, scoping, and test estimation activities.


- Perform hands-on execution of SIT, UAT, E2E, regression, PGLS, and cutover testing.


Integration & Data Validation :


- Validate end-to-end data flows for Workday ADP integrations including :


1. PECI (Payroll Effective Change Interface)


2. PICOF


3. EIB (Inbound/Outbound)


4. Core Connectors & Studio Integrations


- Validate data mapping between Workday HCM and downstream payroll systems.


- Verify data transformation logic, field-level accuracy, pay components, time entries, absence accruals, and costing data.


Payroll & Time/Absence Testing :


- Support payroll testing cycles : gross-to-net inputs validation, pay group checks, and payroll readiness activities.


- Validate time tracking rules, schedules, work tags, time entry flows, and absence balances.


- Validate Workday pay inputs (earning/deduction codes) and their movement into ADP systems.


- Verify job changes, transfers, promotions, retro events, terminations, and other Job Data impacting payroll.


Defect Management :


- Document defects clearly with replication steps, screenshots, and impact details.


- Perform defect triaging along with functional & technical teams.


- Work closely with Workday consultants, developers, ADP teams, and HCM SMEs to validate fixes.


- Re-test and close defects ensuring complete traceability from requirement test case , execution , closure.


Cutover, Go-Live & Hypercare Support :


- Support cutover testing, mock migrations, and production readiness checks.


- Validate data conversion & migration loads for worker data, comp data, and time/absence data.


- Participate in Go-Live testing cycles and stabilization/hypercare activities including issue validation and root-cause analysis.


Documentation & Reporting ;


- Maintain detailed and reusable test scripts, run logs, and traceability matrices.


- Prepare daily/weekly status reports for leadership and stakeholders.


- Document gaps, enhancements, and testing insights for process improvements.


- Maintain test evidence for audit & compliance purposes.


Required Technical & Functional Skills :


Must-Have :


- 3- 5+ years of Workday Functional Testing experience.


- Hands-on experience testing in Workday HCM, Absence, Time & Payroll Interface modules.


- Strong experience validating integrations involving Studio, EIB, APIs, PECI/PICOF.


- Strong understanding of HR master data, worker lifecycle events, and payroll impacting fields.


- Ability to read data mapping sheets, transformation logic, and conduct field-level validation.


Good to Have :


- Experience in Workday HCM configuration or strong functional knowledge.


- Experience working on Workday ADP integration/testing projects.


- Familiarity with payroll concepts (pay groups, pay components, costing, deductions).


- Experience using JIRA, ALM, Confluence, TestRail, qTest or other test management tools.


- Basic SQL or data analysis experience.


- Experience with global HR/payroll data validation across multiple countries.
