Role Summary :

The Workday Integration Lead / Senior Developer is a high-level technical role responsible for the architecture, development, and maintenance of complex integration ecosystems within the Workday platform. This position requires a specialist who can navigate the technical intricacies of the Workday stack, specifically leveraging Workday Studio and Java to build sophisticated, high-performance data bridges. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of integration projectsfrom initial discovery and API design to custom XSLT transformations and deployment. As a lead, you will ensure system reliability through rigorous debugging and performance tuning while collaborating with global vendors to synchronize mission-critical HR and Financial data.

Responsibilities :

- Lead the end-to-end development of complex, highly customized integrations using Workday Studio, incorporating custom Java logic for advanced data processing.

- Architect and implement sophisticated XSLT transformations and XML manipulations to facilitate seamless data exchange between Workday and external systems.

- Design, build, and consume custom SOAP and REST APIs, managing the full lifecycle of WSDL, XSD, and XML schema definitions.

- Develop enterprise-grade reporting solutions using BIRT, including the implementation of Java event handlers for dynamic data formatting.

- Configure and manage a variety of Workday integration tools, including EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Core Connectors, and Document Transformations (DT).

- Execute deep-dive debugging and error handling within Workday Studio to resolve complex integration failures and performance bottlenecks.

- Perform rigorous API testing and validation using industry-standard tools such as Postman and SoapUI.

- Design and build advanced Calculated Fields and custom reports using Workday Report Writer to support integration data requirements.

- Oversee Workday Security configurations related to integrations, ensuring data privacy and compliance through robust auditing practices.

- Collaborate with third-party vendors to architect integration patterns that ensure data integrity across distributed global platforms.

- Manage the full implementation lifecycle, from requirement gathering and technical design to UAT support and production cutover.

Technical Requirements :

- 5.5+ years of dedicated professional experience in Workday Integration development.

- Workday Studio Mastery : Proven expertise in building complex, multi-component integrations using Java, hash maps, and advanced components.

- XSLT/XML Specialist : Deep proficiency in XML, XSLT, XPath, and XML schema (XSD) design for data transformation.

- API Development : Hands-on experience with Web Services (SOAP/REST) and a strong understanding of WSDL and API security protocols.

- Java Proficiency : Strong ability to write and debug Java code within the context of Workday Studio and BIRT event handlers.

- Reporting Expertise : Advanced knowledge of BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools) and Workday Report Writer.

- Integration Toolset : Comprehensive understanding of Core Connectors (CCB, CCTPP) and Document Transformation templates.

- Testing & Debugging : Expert-level skills in using Postman, SoapUI, and the Workday Studio debugger.

Preferred Skills :

- Involvement in at least one full End-to-End Workday Implementation from discovery to post-go-live support.

- Familiarity with Worksheets and advanced data loading techniques.

- Understanding of Workday Business Processes and how they trigger or interact with outbound integrations.

- Experience in performance tuning large-scale data integrations to minimize processing windows.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.

- Relevant Workday certifications (e.g., Workday Integration Pro) are a significant advantage.
