Job Summary :

We are seeking a Workday HRIS Engineer (3+ years experience) with mandatory practical experience in HR database administration and strong knowledge of data privacy and security requirements. The ideal candidate will analyze HR data to improve strategies, translate functional requirements into technical specifications, and own the design and maintenance of HRIS business process workflows.


Key responsibilities include ensuring data integrity through regular auditing, partnering with IT to automate core processes and oversee all system upgrades, while effectively communicating complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Deliverables :

HRIS Data Strategy and Analysis :

- Collects data and analyzes it to improve HR strategies and processes, providing data-driven suggestions to increase functional productivity and workflow of the HR department.

- Maintains data integrity in HRIS by regularly auditing and analyzing data using query and reporting tools to ensure accuracy and strict compliance with data protection laws.

- Maintains and administers ad hoc report writing tools for end users, providing necessary training and assistance for self-service reporting.

Workday Functional Configuration and Development :

- Develops, documents, and maintains all current and new HRIS business process workflows for efficiency, optimization, and regulatory compliance (e.g., Hiring, Compensation, Benefits, Performance).

- Designs/maintains user-friendly business processes, guidelines, and documentation to support and enable employee and manager self-service capabilities within the Workday platform.

- Oversees, and performs as needed, the processing of employee data related to the full scope of employee lifecycle events (hire to retire).

System Governance and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) :

- Translates functional/business requirements into work breakdown structures and technical specifications via information gathering, workshops, and interviews.

- Partners with the IT team to automate, integrate, and configure core HR processes and systems.

- Oversees all system upgrades and enhancements in close partnership with the IT team, working alongside them to perform regular assessments, routine maintenance, and system improvements.

- Actively identifies and resolves issues or opportunities for enhanced user experience and system performance.

Cross-Functional Communication and Partnership :

- Partners with cross-functional team members (HR COEs) and IT team members to respond to HRIS-related issues, enhancement requests, and other queries.

- Listens to customer needs and explains complex technical issues and solutions in a plain and common descriptive manner, facilitating clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :

- Education/Experience : Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent and 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions.

- Technical Knowledge : Practical experience with HR database administration (preferably Workday).

- Security/Compliance : Strong knowledge of data privacy and security requirements.

- Communication : Excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.

Preferred Skills :

- Master's degree in Computer Science, CIS/MIS, or related technical discipline.

- Airline Industry experience.

- Experience with Workday reporting tools (e.g., custom reports, calculated fields).

- Experience with Workday integrations (EIBs, Studio).
