The Wintel Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting the organizations Windows-based infrastructure and server ecosystem. This role is crucial for ensuring the stability, security, performance, and reliability of Windows servers and associated services. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in Wintel technologies, virtualization platforms, security best practices, and IT infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Windows Server & Infrastructure Management :
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP services.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of the Wintel infrastructure.
Virtualization & Cloud Support :
- Manage and troubleshoot virtual machines on platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Assist with tasks on cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, or VMware-based cloud environments.
Security & Compliance :
- Apply security best practices for Windows systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure adherence to patching, hardening, and audit requirements.
- Maintain compliance with organizational security policies.
Monitoring & Operations :
- Monitor systems using enterprise monitoring tools and respond to alerts promptly.
- Maintain performance dashboards, logs, and system health reports.
- Perform regular backup verification and DR-related tasks.
ITSM & Support :
- Work with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow to manage incidents, service requests, and change activities.
- Provide L2/L3 support for Wintel-related issues and escalate complex problems as needed.
- Support basic network troubleshooting and application-related issues.
Collaboration & Documentation :
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including network, security, and application teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing and team training sessions.
