Job Summary :

We are looking for a Backend & Data-focused QA Engineer / SDET to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of our data-driven systems.

This role goes beyond traditional QA you will work on validating complex data pipelines, APIs, and distributed systems, while building robust automation frameworks and driving end-to-end quality across backend services.

Your Responsibilities :

- Ensure high quality and reliability of our data pipeline systems with a strong focus on backend validation

- Analyze, validate, and debug complex data flows across services, APIs, and pipelines

- Identify, confirm, and document bugs with clear reproduction steps, especially in distributed systems

- Design and build automation frameworks for backend, API, and data validation

- Develop and maintain API, integration, and data validation test suites

- Own performance and load testing using tools like JMeter to validate system scalability

- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to understand pipeline logic and define test strategies

- Own QA activities within the scrum team including planning, execution, and reporting

- Act as the first point of contact for debugging customer data issues, RCA, and resolution

- Validate deployments across environments and ensure data correctness post-release

- Drive best practices in test automation, observability, and data validation

- Contribute to internal tools that improve QA efficiency for backend and data systems

Requirements :

- 3 to 6 years of experience in QA with a strong focus on backend and API testing

- Strong understanding of distributed systems and data pipelines

- Hands-on experience with API testing and automation (Rest Assured or similar)

- Solid experience in performance and load testing (JMeter or equivalent)

- Strong knowledge of databases (SQL + NoSQL) with the ability to validate large datasets

- Good understanding of message queues and streaming systems (Kafka or similar)

- Experience with data warehousing tools (BigQuery or similar)

- Proficiency in Java or JavaScript for automation

- Hands-on experience in debugging backend systems and identifying root causes

- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), Git, and containerization (Docker)

- Experience in building or maintaining QA infrastructure (e.g., Selenium Grid or similar)

- Strong analytical skills to understand complex system interactions

- Ability to work independently and own QA for backend-heavy systems

Good to Have:

- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP / AWS)

- Understanding of caching mechanisms and system performance tuning

- Exposure to GenAI applications or AI-driven testing workflows

- Experience with modern dev tools like Cursor, Windsurf, or similar AI-assisted development tools

- Contributions to open source QA tools or frameworks
