Job Description :
Role : Windows Driver Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Windows Driver Developer to join our core engineering team. This role involves the design, development, and optimization of high-performance device drivers that interface directly with cutting-edge hardware. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Windows internals, kernel-mode programming, and hardware-software synchronization.
As a part of this team, you will bridge the gap between hardware and software, ensuring seamless device integration, stability, and performance across the Windows ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities :
- Driver Development : Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Windows device drivers using WDK (Windows Driver Kit), KMDF, UMDF, and WDM frameworks.
- Lifecycle Management : Own the end-to-end lifecycle of driver development, from initial requirement analysis and architectural design to implementation, testing, and maintenance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Partner closely with Hardware, Firmware, and Systems Architecture teams to define driver requirements, hardware-software interfaces, and integration strategies.
- Debugging & Troubleshooting : Expertly identify and resolve complex system-level bugs, memory leaks, and performance bottlenecks using tools like WinDbg, ETL (Event Tracing for Windows), and Debug Viewer.
- Compliance & Certification : Ensure all drivers meet Microsoft HLK (Hardware Lab Kit) requirements and maintain compatibility across various Windows versions (Win 10/11) and architectures.
- Architectural Leadership : Contribute to technical decision-making regarding driver frameworks, communication protocols, and system resource management.
- Documentation & Quality : Participate in peer code reviews, maintain detailed technical documentation, and contribute to robust validation/test plans.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications :
- Core Experience : 4 to 13 years of hands-on experience in Windows internals and kernel-mode driver development.
- Frameworks : Deep expertise in KMDF (Kernel-Mode Driver Framework), UMDF (User-Mode Driver Framework), and legacy WDM (Windows Driver Model).
- Programming : Strong proficiency in C and C++ specifically for kernel-level development.
- Hardware Interface Knowledge : Solid understanding of hardware buses and interfaces such as PCI/PCIe, I2C, SPI, and GPIO. Familiarity with Camera IPs and sensors is highly valued.
- Debugging Expertise : Advanced skills in remote debugging, crash dump analysis, and real-time system monitoring using WinDbg.
- OS Internals : Strong understanding of Windows memory management, interrupt handling, thread synchronization, and power management.
- Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience developing specialized drivers for Audio, Sensors, or Camera subsystems.
- Proven track record of navigating the Windows Certification (WHCP/HLK) process.
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization at the kernel level.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical challenges to non-technical stakeholders.
