Job Description : PHP / Magento (Adobe Commerce) Developer
We are looking for a skilled PHP / Magento (Adobe Commerce) Developer to support Hands Free and other 6th Street eCommerce projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Adobe Commerce (Magento 2), scalable backend development, and performance-driven eCommerce platforms hosted on AWS.
Key Responsibilities:
Magento / Adobe Commerce Development:
- Design, develop, customize, and maintain Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce applications.
- Build and enhance custom modules, extensions, plugins, observers, and services.
- Customize checkout, catalog, PDP/PLP, promotions, and pricing rules.
- Work on multi-store and multi-website Magento implementations.
- Ensure Adobe Commerce best practices and coding standards are followed.
Backend & PHP Development:
- Develop scalable backend solutions using PHP.
- Write clean, efficient, and reusable code with strong OOP principles.
- Implement REST and GraphQL APIs for frontend and third-party integrations.
- Handle complex business logic related to orders, inventory, pricing, and promotions.
Database Management:
- Work with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS Aurora.
- Optimize database performance using read/write replicas.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and high availability.
Caching & Performance Optimization:
- Implement and manage Redis caching using AWS ElastiCache.
- Optimize application performance using full-page cache, indexing, and query optimization.
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in high-traffic eCommerce environments.
Infrastructure & Web Server:
- Work with Apache 2.x and Nginx web servers.
- Configure and optimize Magento for production-grade deployments.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
AWS & Cloud Environment:
- Deploy and support applications in AWS environments.
- Work with AWS services including Aurora, ElastiCache, EC2, and S3.
- Ensure application scalability, reliability, and security.
Integrations & Third-Party Services:
- Integrate payment gateways, shipping providers, ERP, CRM, and marketplace systems.
- Handle API-based integrations with internal and external systems.
- Debug and resolve integration-related issues.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong experience in PHP development.
- Hands-on experience with Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce.
- Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of AWS Aurora (read/write replicas).
- Experience with Redis caching (AWS ElastiCache).
- Experience with Apache 2.x and/or Nginx.
- Strong understanding of eCommerce workflows.
Good to Have:
- Magento / Adobe Commerce certification.
- Experience with REST & GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to performance testing and optimization.
- Experience working in high-traffic eCommerce platforms.
