Job Title : Web Smart TV / Angular Smart TV developer

Job Responsibilities :

Work Location : Chennai client location ( work from office for all 5 days).

Skill : Web Smart TV / Angular Smart TV developer

- 5+ years of experience in front-end development, with at least 3 years in Angular, 1 in OTT.

- Solid understanding of profiling tools

- Experience in Memory and CPU usage optimization

- Experience with older browser stack. (ES6/ES5 etc)

- Store submission experience - LG/ Samsung/ Panasonic (Viera Connect) / Hisense (VIDAA)/ Xbox/ PS4/PS5 - This is a plus

Smart TV Application Development :

- Design and develop responsive, performant web applications for Smart TV platforms using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular.

- Adapt Angular applications for deployment on TV-specific platforms (e.g., Samsung Tizen, LG webOS).

- Implement custom video players or integrate with existing video platforms (e.g., HLS.js, Shaka Player).

Platform-Specific Adaptation :

- Ensure compatibility with different Smart TV operating systems and browsers (e.g., Tizen browser, webOS browser, Android TV's WebView).

- Handle platform-specific APIs for media playback, storage, and hardware access.

UI/UX Optimization for TV :

- Create remote control-friendly UIs (D-pad navigation, focus management).

- Optimize layout and font sizes for 10-foot UI experiences.

- Ensure accessibility and responsiveness for various screen sizes and resolutions.

Performance Optimization :

- Minimize app load times and memory usage.

- Debug and optimize apps for performance on resource-constrained TV hardware.

Testing and Debugging :

- Test applications across a wide range of Smart TV models and emulators.

- Use tools like Samsung Tizen Studio, LG webOS IDE, and ADB for debugging.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Work with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend developers to deliver high-quality TV apps.

- Integrate APIs and work with media content providers (RESTful APIs, GraphQL, etc.).

Maintenance and Updates :

- Monitor application stability and performance in production.

- Update apps for platform SDK changes and new TV models.

Required Skills :

- Strong Angular experience.

- Experience developing and debugging web applications on Smart TVs.

- Familiarity with video streaming technologies (e.g., DRM, adaptive streaming).

- Understanding of input management (remote controls, voice navigation).
