Roles & Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 15-20 software engineers, fostering a high-performance engineering culture.

- Own and drive key initiatives supporting the developer workflow from PR to release.

- Foster collaboration with cross-functional partners and other engineering teams to drive alignment on technical and product roadmaps.

- Provide technical guidance and ensure architectural and code quality standards.

- Contribute to the technical vision and architecture for our platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and

efficiency.

- Monitor, review, and coach developer and manager performance; conduct regular performance appraisals and provide growth opportunities.

- Own the hiring, onboarding, and development of engineers, ensuring a diverse and high-performing team.

- Drive technical innovation and advocate for engineering best practices.

- Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration within WBD Sports.

- Act as a culture carrier, fostering a high-performing, inclusive and collaborative environment aligned with WBDs guiding principles and Global Sports Technology ambitions.

- Provide mentorship and leadership across the broader team, supporting talent development, succession planning and organizational health.

What To Bring :

- 14+ years of professional experience in software development, of which 5+ years involves direct management of a team of 15 or more full time employees.

- 5+ years of experience in frontend development, e.g., Swift, Kotlin.

- Proven experience operating at a senior level in a continuous delivery organisation that uses Agile methodologies (ceremonies) and tools (Jira).

- Comfortable working on early iterations of solutions without clearly-defined parameters, and the ability to lead a team which has autonomy in their day-to-day decisions.

- Demonstrated advanced understanding of troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, application design, solution development, human factors/usability design and implementation of projects for major business units or the enterprise.

- Extensive experience building, delivering, profiling and optimising client apps.

- Operational excellence experience, monitoring and incident management.

- Ability to translate business requirements to technical architecture and designs.

- A general understanding of DevOps CI/CD tools (Github Actions) and implementation best practices.

- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Demonstrated ability as an execution-driven self-starter who takes initiative, follows through, and ensures things get done efficiently.

- Comfortable communicating with stakeholders from internal technical and nontechnical members, product managers, C-level management.

- Experience mentoring engineers.

- Ability to work cross-functionally and drive team alignment with business goals.

- Masters degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

- Passion for sports, technology and the evolving landscape of digital fan engagement is preferred.
