We are seeking an experienced Cloudflare WAF (Web Application Firewall) Migration Specialist to manage and execute the migration of our web application firewall (WAF) from Akamai to Cloudflare. This role will focus on ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to our applications, security protocols, and traffic management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both Akamai and Cloudflare platforms, with a deep understanding of WAF functionality, security protocols, and the configuration of CDN and DNS services.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Experience :

- Proven experience in WAF migration projects, specifically from Akamai to Cloudflare.

- Strong expertise in both Akamai and Cloudflare platforms, with hands-on experience configuring and managing WAF, CDN, DNS, and security settings.

- In-depth understanding of web security principles, DDoS protection, bot mitigation, SSL/TLS, and application layer protection.

Technical Skills :

- Strong knowledge of Cloudflares security features (e.g., WAF, rate limiting, bot management, firewall rules, IP reputation).

- Familiarity with Akamai WAF configurations and security settings.

- Proficiency with DNS management and SSL/TLS configuration.

- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and resolving performance and security-related issues in a cloud environment.

Tools & Technologies :

- Cloudflare WAF and security tools.

- Akamai control panel and WAF configuration tools.

- Experience with CDN (Content Delivery Network) configurations and DNS management tools.

Soft Skills :

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Trained and Certified on Cloudflare WAF Platform.

- Experience in Implementing Cloudflare WAF, CDN, Bot Management etc.

- Experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and application deployment processes.

- Previous work experience in cloud environments such as AWS, AWS, or Google Cloud.

Key Responsibilities :

- Plan, manage, and execute the full lifecycle of the WAF migration from Akamai to Cloudflare.

- Configure and optimize Cloudflare WAF features including firewall rules, rate limiting, bot management, and IP reputation.

- Analyze current Akamai WAF configurations and replicate or improve security policies on Cloudflare.

- Manage CDN and DNS settings to ensure smooth traffic routing and application availability during and after migration.

- Troubleshoot and resolve performance, security, and connectivity issues related to WAF and CDN configurations.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, security, and application teams to align migration objectives.

- Document migration processes, configurations, and post-migration reports.

- Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize downtime or security gaps.
