Role Summary :

We are looking for a senior, hands-on analyst who can lead a new data operations and intelligence initiative. The person will work with structured and unstructured external datasets, convert messy information into clean business-ready records, create repeatable workflows, manage junior analysts, and ensure high standards of accuracy and usefulness. This is not a dashboard-only role. The ideal candidate can work with imperfect data, define practical workflows, guide a small team, and convert raw information into useful business intelligence outputs.

Responsibilities :

A. Data Source Identification and Evaluation :

- Identify external datasets and information sources that can support business research, market intelligence, and operational insights.

- Evaluate each source for reliability, freshness, completeness, structure, accessibility, and repeatability.

- Document source-level rules, update frequency, extraction method, limitations, and quality risks. Prioritize sources based on business usefulness, data quality, and effort required to maintain them.

B. Data Extraction and Workflow Design :

- Create repeatable workflows to collect data from websites, portals, downloadable files, spreadsheets, PDFs, and internal research inputs.

- Work with technical or automation teams when scraping, OCR, API extraction, or workflow automation is required. Define templates, SOPs, and checklists for junior analysts to follow.

- Ensure workflows are scalable, auditable, and easy to hand over.

C. Data Cleaning, Structuring, and Enrichment :

- Clean, normalize, deduplicate, and structure messy datasets into standardized records.

- Create and maintain data dictionaries, field definitions, classification rules, and validation checks.

- Enrich records with relevant metadata such as location, category, source, date, confidence level, and notes.

D. Analytical Judgment and Business Interpretation :

- Interpret raw records and identify which information is actually useful from a business perspective.

- Create simple scoring or prioritization logic based on freshness, relevance, reliability, and completeness.

- Separate high-confidence records from low-quality or noisy records. Turn data into concise summaries, weekly outputs, and decision-ready intelligence packs.

E. Team Leadership and Quality Control :

- Lead a small team of junior analysts, researchers, or data associates.

- Assign tasks, review output, train team members, and enforce quality standards.

- Run quality checks for accuracy, duplication, formatting, evidence, and completeness.

- Track productivity, error rates, source coverage, and output quality. 4.

Required Experience and Skills :

- 5 to 8 years of experience in data analysis, data operations, business research, market intelligence, sales intelligence, or similar roles.

- Strong Excel or Google Sheets capability, including advanced formulas, pivots, lookups, data cleaning, and structured templates.

- Good SQL knowledge for querying, joining, validating, and checking datasets.

- Experience handling messy, incomplete, inconsistent, or semi-structured data.

- Ability to document processes clearly and create SOPs for junior team members.

- Strong analytical judgment and ability to understand the business relevance behind a dataset.

- Experience managing or reviewing the work of junior analysts or research associates.

- Good written communication and concise reporting skills. High ownership mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to build from zero to one.

Preferred Skills :

- Python basics, especially Pandas, for data cleaning and transformation.

- Exposure to web scraping projects or ability to coordinate with scraping engineers.

- Experience with OCR, PDF extraction, table extraction, or document parsing workflows.

- Experience with data enrichment, classification, tagging, and scoring.

- Exposure to CRM-ready data formats, lead data, research databases, or sales intelligence workflows.

- Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, or similar dashboarding exposure.

- Experience working with location, address, company, property, business listing, or external market data.

- Comfort working with automation, RPA, or low-code workflow tools.
