Tech Lead/Senior Engineer (Backend/AI-ML)

Position Overview :

Volo Health is looking for a Tech Lead/Senior Engineer to lead backend and AI/ML engineering for our claims and healthcare-technology platforms. You will design and build production backend systems and drive the integration of AI/ML capabilities - from LLM-powered features to fraud/waste/abuse detection - while mentoring a small engineering team. You will report directly to the CTO.

Education :

- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - or equivalent practical experience

- Relevant AI/ML or cloud certifications are a plus, not required

Good to Have :

- Experience with SvelteKit or similar modern frontend frameworks

- Experience with Claude Code, LangChain, or other agentic/AI tooling

- Experience with AWS infrastructure (ALB, SES, EC2) and process management (PM2, nginx)

- Exposure to fraud/waste/abuse detection or claims-processing systems

Preferred Domain Experience :

- Experience in health insurance, insurance technology, healthcare technology, fintech, or another regulated industry

- Experience building systems for claims processing, fraud detection, or healthcare payments
