Virtusa - Senior Software Engineer - .Net

Job Summary :

We are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our fast-paced backend team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying resilient RESTful APIs and distributed microservices using .NET Core. You will write clean, well-tested C# code, solve complex engineering problems, and actively contribute to modernizing our cloud architecture.

Key Responsibilities :

- Backend Development : Hands-on design and implementation of RESTful APIs and microservices using C# and .NET Core (.NET 6+).

- Data & System Optimization : Write optimized queries and work closely with relational databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle) to ensure efficient data access patterns.

- Distributed Systems Implementation : Apply OOP principles, software design patterns, and event-driven patterns (e.g., Kafka) to create reliable, scalable backend components.

- Deployment & Delivery : Participate in automated deployments using Git-based workflows and CI/CD tools (TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy).

- System Observability : Implement application metrics and distributed tracing to monitor application health via Grafana/Prometheus.

- Collaboration & Quality : Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to peer code reviews, and mentor mid-level engineers.

Qualifications & Requirements :

- Experience : 6+ years of industry experience as a full-stack or backend engineer.

- Backend Core : Expert in C# or Java with strong OOP and design patterns. Core expertise in .NET Core / .NET 6 / .NET 8 is required.

- Architecture : Proven experience with REST APIs, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, and resilience patterns for distributed systems.

- Streaming : Hands-on experience with streaming platforms like Apache Kafka is a strong plus.

- Databases : Strong relational database experience with MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

- Cloud : Hands-on experience or deep knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

- CI/CD & DevOps : Source control (Git), build/deployment platforms (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy).

- Monitoring : Experience with observability stacks such as Grafana or Prometheus.

- Soft Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills; experienced with Agile/Scrum delivery models.
