Virtusa - Senior Software Development Engineer - .Net/Microservices

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Senior .NET Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in .NET Core, C#, REST APIs, Microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-based application development. The role will involve designing and developing scalable, resilient applications and services, contributing to modern engineering practices, and supporting applications across the complete software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable applications and services using C# and .NET Core / .NET 6 / .NET 8.

- Design and develop robust RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise applications.

- Implement event-driven and asynchronous communication patterns for distributed systems.

- Apply resilient architecture principles, fault-tolerance patterns, and established microservices design patterns.

- Design solutions for high availability, scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

- Develop clean, modular, reusable, and testable code following OOP, SOLID, and software design principles.

- Work with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

- Integrate applications with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka.

- Implement application monitoring and observability using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent platforms.

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, deployment, and release management.

- Troubleshoot application, API, database, deployment, infrastructure, and production issues.

- Support applications deployed on AWS or other major cloud platforms.

- Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering best-practice initiatives.

Tech Stack & Requirements:

- 10 - 15 years of experience in software development, with strong experience in backend or full-stack engineering.

- Strong hands-on expertise in C# and .NET Core, preferably with .NET 6/.NET 8.

- Strong experience building REST APIs and microservices.

- Strong understanding of event-driven communication, asynchronous processing, distributed systems, and resilient architecture.

- Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture.

- Strong experience with at least one relational database: SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

- Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.

- Experience with application monitoring and observability; Grafana/Prometheus experience is preferred.

- Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform.

- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
