Virtusa - Quality Assurance/Automation Engineer

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance & Automation Engineer with strong expertise in software testing, test automation, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java, Selenium, Rest Assured, UFT/QTP, and performance testing, along with experience working on large-scale enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, execute, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and release-level regression test suites.

- Develop and maintain automated tests using Java and Selenium.

- Perform API automation testing using the Rest Assured framework.

- Maintain and enhance automation solutions using UFT/QTP where required.

- Plan and execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

- Perform performance and load testing, including test planning, script development, execution, result analysis, and performance improvement recommendations.

- Prepare test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and automation strategies based on business and technical requirements.

- Validate application functionality, data integrity, integrations, and backend processes using Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.

- Write and execute SQL queries for backend validation, test data verification, and defect analysis.

- Manage the complete defect lifecycle, including defect reporting, tracking, root cause analysis, retesting, and closure.

- Use tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, and Azure DevOps (VSTS) for defect tracking, test management, and project collaboration.

- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure quality across the development lifecycle.

- Prepare test execution reports, automation results, defect metrics, and quality status updates for stakeholders.

- Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, testing processes, and overall quality engineering practices.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 5 - 8 years of experience in QA, Software Testing, and Test Automation.

- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Selenium WebDriver.

- Strong experience in REST API automation testing using Rest Assured.

- Experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks and regression suites.

- Hands-on experience with UFT/QTP is required.

- Experience in performance and load testing, including scripting, execution, analysis, and reporting.

- Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, system, and automation testing methodologies.

- Good knowledge of Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL-based data validation.

- Experience with JIRA, HP ALM, and Azure DevOps/VSTS.

- Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.

- Experience working on large-scale enterprise projects involving multiple stakeholders and tight delivery timelines.

- Strong understanding of defect management, test planning, test case design, and QA processes.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Experience collaborating with technical and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
