Virtusa - Java/Microservices Developer

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Java Microservices Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing and developing scalable enterprise applications, building RESTful APIs, integrating with external systems, and troubleshooting application performance, security, and reliability issues.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain large-scale Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.

- Design and develop scalable solutions for complex business requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

- Develop, enhance, and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate applications with internal and external systems.

- Work with REST and SOAP web services for system integration.

- Apply appropriate software design principles and development best practices to build maintainable and scalable applications.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to coding standards and quality practices.

- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, QA teams, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

- Support application deployments, production issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Work effectively in an Agile development environment and deliver high-quality solutions within committed timelines.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 6 - 9 years of experience in software development.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.

- Strong experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.

- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.

- Experience working with REST and SOAP-based integrations.

- Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design principles, and enterprise application development.

- Experience working on large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders and tight delivery timelines.

- Proficiency in JavaScript and familiarity with integrating frontend or client-side components.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Good understanding of application performance, scalability, security, and reliability considerations.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
