The Platform Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing 24x7 IT infrastructure and platform operations across multiple technology domains.
This role ensures operational excellence, service reliability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement through automation, monitoring, and process optimization.
The position involves managing offshore teams, driving service delivery, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to meet business and operational objectives.
Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage a 24x7x365 offshore IT operations team across multiple infrastructure and platform domains.
- Ensure operational excellence in service delivery, including incident response, change management, patching, and performance optimization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on monitoring, automation, runbook development, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with onshore SMEs, business stakeholders, and vendors to align SLAs, KPIs, and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain adherence to security, audit, and regulatory requirements, including SOX compliance.
- Provide escalation management and leadership during critical incidents and lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
- Manage team capacity planning, shift scheduling, training, and skill development to ensure round-the-clock coverage.
- Oversee operational governance, reporting, service reviews, and performance metrics.
- Support platform stability, availability, and resilience across enterprise technology environments.
Experience & Qualifications :
- 8+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure / Platform Operations, with 3-4+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience managing offshore teams in a 24x7 operations environment.
- Strong hands-on and leadership experience across the following technology domains :.
1. Virtualization & Compute : VMware (vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, vSAN, SRM, VDI), vRealize Automation (vRA), vROps, vCWOM, Dell & Cisco UCS, VxRail.
2. Storage & Backup : NetApp, Dell PowerStore, Unity, AWS FSx, XtremIO, SnapMirror, SnapVault, CIFS/NFS, SAN zoning, Veritas NetBackup, IDPA, Dell Apex, Backupify, Avamar, Data Domain.
3. Cloud & Identity : Azure AD, AWS SSO, Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Power BI (Gateway, ODBC, Athena, Workspace).
4. Cyber Recovery & Security Platforms : Cyber Vault and Cleanroom solutions, OWL Diode, SecureCopy, CyberSense.
5. Application & Platform Support : Geneva, Advent, Citrix (CVAD), NetScaler, MSC, ControlUp, FTP (WSFTP), PGP, Sitefinity, SharePoint.
6. Monitoring, Automation & Tooling : SolarWinds, Data Insights, CloudIQ, ControlUp, automation frameworks, enterprise patch management tools.
7. Windows & Server Management : Windows Server administration, patching, clustering, VM provisioning, and decommissioning.
8. Security & Compliance : SOX reporting, vulnerability remediation, audit support, open-share cleanup, regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of ITIL-based service management processes, including incident, change, problem, and capacity management.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- ITIL certification or equivalent service management experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
