The VP of Engineering will lead the strategic and operational direction of the engineering organisation. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and an agile mindset. You'll oversee multiple engineering teams responsible for delivering high-quality SaaS products that scale globally, while fostering a strong culture of performance, innovation, and accountability.

Responsibilities :

- Define and own end-to-end SDLC for all applications under the Engineering org from the definition phase to go-live and production phases.

- Efficiently manage the team's time and take accountability for delivery commitments, and manage risks.

- Work as a member of an Agile Software Development Team to help implement new functionality based on business requirements.

- Ensure strong focus on quality, security and scalability.

- Review code, ensure code is thoroughly tested, and ensure best coding practices are followed.

- Lead performance engineering and capacity planning exercises.

- Help Project Management in identifying key technical risks and a mitigation plan for the same.

- Help Project Management in effort estimation and planning.

- Create clear career paths for team members to help them grow with regular and deep mentoring, attract

and retain top talent, and keep long-term goals in mind.

Requirements :

- 15+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in a senior leadership role in a SaaS environment.

- Proven track record of building and scaling distributed systems and high-availability SaaS products.

- Strong experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices, and API-first architectures.

- Hands-on background in software development (preferably in Java, Node.js, Python, or similar modern stacks).

- Strong understanding of agile practices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps culture.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from a Tier 1 Engineering Institute (e. g., IITs, NITs, BITS, or equivalent).

- Experience with analytics, AI/ML, or data engineering in a SaaS context.

- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (SOC 2 GDPR, HIPAA) and secure software development practices.

- Global team management experience across time zones and cultures.
