Job Summary :

We are looking for a highly experienced VP Java Full Stack Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-performance banking applications. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Java Full Stack development, Microservices, Kafka, React, Cloud-native technologies, and enterprise application architecture.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the Banking/Financial Services domain, with the ability to build complex distributed systems, lead engineering teams, drive technical excellence, and collaborate with global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership & Engineering Delivery :

- Lead end-to-end design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade banking applications.

- Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to engineering teams.

- Drive high-quality software delivery through best engineering practices.

- Collaborate with global product, architecture, and business teams to deliver scalable solutions.

- Manage technical roadmap, delivery planning, risks, and stakeholder expectations.

Full Stack Application Development :

- Design and develop robust applications using Java 8+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture.

- Build responsive and scalable frontend solutions using React and Micro Frontend Architecture.

- Develop secure, high-performance applications aligned with banking standards.

- Ensure clean code practices, reusable components, and maintainable architecture.

Microservices, Kafka & Distributed Systems :

- Design and implement cloud-native distributed systems.

- Develop event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.

- Build scalable microservices with strong focus on availability, reliability, and performance.

- Implement workflow solutions using Camunda/JBPM.

- Optimize application performance, memory usage, and system scalability.

Cloud, DevOps & Automation :

- Develop and deploy applications using Docker, Kubernetes / OpenShift, Helm, and AWS Cloud Services.

- Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation.

- Work with Git, Bitbucket/GitLab, Jenkins, and modern engineering tools.

- Drive automation-first engineering practices.

Database & Backend Engineering :

- Work extensively with Hibernate/JPA, Spring Batch, Spring JDBC, Liquibase, and distributed caching solutions.

- Design optimized database interactions and improve application performance.

- Ensure reliability and scalability of backend services.

Quality Engineering & Best Practices :

- Establish coding standards, architecture principles, and engineering guidelines.

- Apply SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean coding practices.

- Conduct code reviews and technical assessments.

- Implement unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Testing Framework.

Stakeholder & Team Management :

- Work closely with UK-based banking stakeholders and global technology teams.

- Translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.

- Mentor engineers and support technical capability development.

- Drive Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills :

- 13+ years of software engineering experience.

- Strong expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs.

- Hands-on experience with React & Micro Frontend Architecture.

- Strong knowledge of Kafka/Event-driven Architecture.

- Experience with Camunda/JBPM.

- Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Helm, and AWS.

- Strong experience with Hibernate/JPA, Spring Batch, Spring JDBC, and Liquibase.

- Experience in distributed caching and scalable application design.

- Strong knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, memory management & performance tuning.

- CI/CD & DevOps experience using Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket/GitLab.

Preferred Experience :

- Prior experience working with UK Banking / Investment Banking / Financial Services domain.

- Experience managing enterprise-scale applications.

- Exposure to Agile delivery models and global stakeholder management.

- Experience in VP / Engineering Lead / Technical Leadership roles.

Education :

- B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA or equivalent qualification preferred.
