Position : Vice President of Engineering (Financial Services)

Role Overview :

We are seeking a visionary Vice President of Engineering to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade digital platforms and applications for the ecosystem. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, driving innovation across web, mobile, and data platforms.

This role demands hands-on experience in modern application architecture, cloud-native technologies, API integration, and enterprise-scale delivery, with proven success in BFSI, fintech, wealth management, lending, or investment platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

- Partner with business leaders, operations teams, and product stakeholders to define technology roadmaps aligned with strategic goals.

- Drive end-to-end engineering execution from requirement analysis, architecture design, development, testing, deployment, and production rollout.

- Lead digital transformation initiatives across financial services applications and platforms.

- Ensure technology initiatives align with customer experience, operational efficiency, and compliance objectives.

Engineering & Solution Architecture :

- Architect scalable, secure, and high-availability enterprise platforms.

- Lead modernization from monolithic to microservices architectures.

- Drive adoption of cloud-native practices (AWS/GCP), APIs (public/private), automation, and DevOps.

- Implement JWT/OAuth2 authentication and secure coding standards.

- Design and review architecture diagrams for applications, chatbots, and voice AI agents.

- Integrate AI-driven debugging and problem resolution tools for faster delivery.

- Oversee integration with internal systems, third-party financial APIs, and regulatory platforms.

Product & Platform Development :

- Lead application development from scratch using React.js, Node.js, and modern frameworks.

- Manage full-stack delivery across iOS, Android, and web platforms.

- Ensure seamless conversion of web apps into mobile-responsive applications.

- Oversee BI/data warehousing pipelines, ensuring robust analytics and reporting capabilities.

- Drive innovation in chatbot and voice AI agent development for internal and external stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Delivery Management :

- Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams (minimum 10 members) across development, QA, DevOps, and support.

- Establish strong engineering governance, Agile delivery processes, and release management practices.

- Ensure timely delivery of concurrent programs and strategic technology initiatives.

- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Risk, Security & Compliance :

- Ensure adherence to RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, and KYC regulatory frameworks.

- Implement secure coding, disaster recovery, observability, and operational resilience.

- Maintain compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, and audit standards.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Act as the primary technology interface for business teams and senior management.

- Collaborate with product, operations, compliance, and infrastructure teams for seamless execution.

- Present technology strategies, delivery updates, risks, and investment plans to leadership.

Must-Have Skills & Experience :

- 15+ years in software engineering, with 5 to 8 years in leadership roles.

- Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale applications and digital platforms.

- Hands-on expertise in React.js, Node.js, JWT/OAuth2, API integration, and cloud-native architecture.

- Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.

- Experience with AI tools for debugging, automation, and optimization.

- Deep knowledge of databases, data architecture, and performance optimization.

- Exposure to BI/data warehousing, data pipelines, and analytics platforms.

- Strong BFSI/Fintech domain exposure wealth management, lending, insurance, trading, or investment systems.

Education :

- B.Tech / B.E. / MCA / MBA (Systems/IT) or equivalent technical degree.
