Job Title : Vice President - Engineering
Location : Bangalore
Reports to : CEO/Founder
Role Overview :
As the VP, you will be responsible for the technology strategy and the overall architecture of our AI-based performance management platform. You will lead the engineering team, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and ensure the seamless delivery of technology solutions that align with business goals.
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a deep technical background, particularly in AI, cloud computing, and SaaS-based platforms, with a proven ability to scale technology and build high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Technology Strategy & Leadership :
- Define and drive the overall technology vision and strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the engineering team to build innovative and scalable AI-based solutions for performance management.
- Oversee the development and deployment of the platform, ensuring it is secure, efficient, and user-friendly.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, especially in AI, machine learning, and performance management, to ensure the platform remains competitive.
Team Development & Collaboration :
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure that technology solutions meet customer needs and business goals.
- Develop processes to ensure effective communication and agile delivery across teams.
Technology Architecture & Innovation :
- Design and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure architecture that supports our AI-driven platform.
- Lead the integration of AI and machine learning algorithms into the platform to enhance user experience and performance insights.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools, ensuring the technology stack is modern and scalable for future growth.
Operational Excellence :
- Ensure the timely delivery of software releases while maintaining high quality and performance standards.
- Implement and oversee best practices for software development, quality assurance, and DevOps processes.
- Establish and monitor key performance metrics for engineering success, ensuring high standards for reliability and scalability.
Stakeholder Communication :
- Communicate technology strategy, progress, and key milestones effectively to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Translate technical challenges and opportunities into business outcomes, presenting solutions to executive teams.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience (10+ years) in technology leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role, preferably in an HRTech, SaaS, or AI-driven company.
- Expertise in AI, machine learning, and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Strong background in engineering leadership, including scaling teams, developing high- quality products, and leading complex technical initiatives.
- Experience in building and maintaining scalable SaaS platforms.
- Deep understanding of performance management processes, HRTech industry trends, and business applications.
- Strong technical expertise with hands-on experience in software development, architecture, and systems design.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision with short-term execution.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps best practices.
- Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
