About the Role :
We are seeking a seasoned VP/Director of Engineering to lead, scale, and mentor our entire Engineering organization. Reporting directly to the CEO/CTO, you will be the ultimate owner of the technical strategy, execution, and delivery of our core B2B AI SaaS platform. This role involves managing multiple functional teams (Backend, ML/Data, DevOps), setting performance standards, driving architectural excellence, and fostering a high-performance engineering culture necessary to serve demanding enterprise clients globally.
Key Leadership Responsibilities :
1. Technical Vision and Strategy :
- Roadmap Ownership : Define and champion the long-term technical vision and strategy for the platform, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap and business goals.
- Architecture Review : Oversee and approve all major architectural decisions, guiding Staff/Principal Engineers in designing resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient distributed systems on the cloud.
- Innovation : Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies (GenAI, MLOps, etc.) and best practices to maintain a competitive edge and reduce technical debt.
2. Execution and Delivery :
- Process Management : Implement and refine Agile/Scrum methodologies, metrics (DORA, velocity), and processes to optimize engineering efficiency, predictability, and quality of releases.
- Resource Allocation : Manage the engineering budget, prioritize staffing needs, and strategically allocate resources across multiple critical projects (e.g., new feature development, platform stability, security compliance).
- Risk & Reliability : Take ultimate ownership of platform reliability, disaster recovery planning, and adherence to enterprise-level security and compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
3. Team Leadership and Culture :
- Talent Acquisition: Play a key role in recruiting, interviewing, and closing top-tier engineering talent, upholding the high technical bar.
- Mentorship and Growth: Mentor engineering managers and technical leaders, establishing clear career paths and driving professional development across the organization.
- Culture: Foster a collaborative, data-driven, and ownership-oriented engineering culture that values both speed and stability.
What You'll Bring (Mandatory Skills & Experience) :
- Educational Excellence : B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or a related discipline from an IIT, NIT, BITS Pilani, or IIIT is mandatory.
- Experience : 6 to 10+ years of progressive experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in a Director or VP-level leadership role managing multiple engineering teams (40+ engineers preferred) at a B2B SaaS or high-growth product company.
- Technical Depth : Deep expertise in modern distributed systems, cloud-native architecture (Kubernetes, Microservices), and the practical application of AI/ML in a production environment.
- Business Acumen : Demonstrated ability to link engineering decisions directly to business outcomes (e.g., LTV, NRR, COGS, time-to-market).
Logistics and Compensation :
- Location : This is a Work from Office Only position in Bangalore. Given the executive nature, continuous presence at headquarters is required.
