Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Access database applications to support business operations
- Build and optimize complex queries, including multi-level relational queries, insert, append, and update operations
- Develop and maintain advanced VBA code for automation, business logic, and workflow enhancements
- Handle large datasets, ensuring performance optimization and data accuracy
- Perform data import/export operations from/to external sources (Excel, CSV, SQL databases, etc.)
- Write efficient SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and performance tuning
- Design and implement relational database structures, ensuring proper normalization and indexing
- Analyze and debug existing databases and legacy systems, identify root causes, and implement effective fixes
- Improve system performance through query optimization and indexing strategies
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Provide clear communication and documentation for both technical and non-technical users
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in developing and supporting Microsoft Access databases
- Strong expertise in MS Access queries (joins, nested queries, action queries like insert/update/append)
- Advanced knowledge of VBA in Microsoft Access (automation, classes, error handling, large data processing)
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, data manipulation, and optimization
- Strong understanding of relational database design, normalization, and indexing
- Experience in debugging and enhancing existing database applications
- Ability to work with large and complex datasets efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience working with legacy systems and database migrations
- Exposure to other database systems like SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL
- Familiarity with data integration tools or ETL processes
- Experience in business-critical applications (finance, operations, reporting systems)
