Updapt - Test Engineer - Manual/Automation Testing

Responsibilities :

- Review product requirements, technical specifications, and user stories to identify test objectives.

- Design, develop, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.

- Perform functional, regression, integration, UI, and system testing.

- Track and verify defects through the full development lifecycle.

- Participate in release validation, smoke tests, and deployment checks.

- Work with development, product, and UI/UX teams to ensure high-quality product releases.

- Participate in sprint ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint showcase, retrospectives, and estimation.

- Raise risks, issues, and quality concerns proactively within the team.

- Own test planning and execution for assigned modules or features.

- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

- Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge-case defects.

- Prepare test execution reports and share results with stakeholders.

- Independently validate bug fixes and ensure defect closure.

- Analyze system behavior, logs, and reports to identify root causes of issues.

- Evaluate application performance and identify areas for improvement.

- Use data-driven decision-making to assess release readiness and potential risks.

- Use tools like JIRA, TestRail, Postman, Selenium, or similar QA software.

- Validate APIs, database records, UI interaction flows, and application functionality.

- Ensure adherence to testing standards and documentation practices.

- Understand basic SQL, API structures, and debugging techniques to validate backend workflows.

Requirements :

- 1- 2 years of experience in manual or automation testing.

- Strong understanding of QA/testing concepts, defect lifecycle, and test documentation.

- Ability to design and execute test scenarios, test cases, and checklists.

- Knowledge of Functional, Regression, Smoke, and Integration testing.

- Familiarity with APIs, SQL, MongoDB, and basic backend validation.

- Strong attention to detail and analytical ability to understand application behavior.

- Understanding of requirements and ability to perform gap analysis.

- Experience with tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Postman, Selenium, or any bug tracker.

- Ability to prepare structured summaries, test reports, and communicate findings clearly.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills for bug reporting and collaboration.

- Ability to participate in sprint ceremonies and communicate blockers professionally.

- Presentation skills to explain test results, defects, and validation logic.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for test case documentation and reporting.

- Certifications such as Selenium, Automation Testing, or API Testing (preferred).
