Unix System Administrator

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage Unix job control, monitor system processes, and handle system-level troubleshooting.

- Ensure proper resource allocation, uptime, and performance tuning of systems.

- Develop and implement CLI-based workflows and automation scripts to streamline operations.

- Monitor system health using command-line tools and third-party monitoring solutions.

- Perform regular system backups, updates, and patch management.

- Validate and ensure robustness, correctness, and reproducibility in system operations.

- Respond to and resolve system alerts and incidents in a timely manner.

- Document configurations, processes, and system-related changes.

Required Skills :

- Strong understanding of Unix job control, system-level troubleshooting, and resource

management.

- Proficient in command-line interface (CLI) operations and scripting (Shell, Bash, or similar).

- Experience with system monitoring, automation, and performance tuning.

- Solid understanding of process management, user access control, and server hardening.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working in 24x7 production environments.

- Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing tools.
