Description of the Role :

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive QA Engineer with experience in Set-Top Box (STB) testing and OTT platforms.

You will be responsible for designing and executing manual and automated test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable media streaming solutions.

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for STB and OTT applications.

- Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and compatibility testing on STBs and connected devices.

- Validate video playback, EPG, UI, network connectivity, and DRM functionalities.

- Identify, track, and document software defects using test management and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira).

- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and release teams to define and execute test strategies.

- Conduct log analysis on Linux-based environments and validate streaming protocols (HLS, DASH, MPEG).

- Participate in sprint planning and release validation, ensuring quality deliverables within timelines.

- Continuously improve test coverage, automation, and QA processes to enhance overall efficiency.

Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 3 - 4 years of experience in software testing and QA, with at least 2 years in STB/OTT domain.

- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.

- Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).

- Good knowledge of Linux commands, log analysis, and basic networking.

- Exposure to automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Python or Java is a plus.

- Familiarity with video streaming protocols, DRM, codecs, and playback validation.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in agile teams.
