We are seeking an experienced UE Protocol Test Engineer to join our team and contribute to LTE/5G modem testing, performance validation, and protocol-level analysis. The role involves executing test plans, analyzing failures, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with development teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of LTE/5G call processing, 3GPP specifications, and hands-on experience with protocol testing tools.

Key Responsibilities :

Protocol & System Testing :

- Execute UE-level LTE protocol, performance, and conformance test cases.

- Perform functional, performance, stability, and automation testing across LTE and 5G technologies.

- Conduct system acquisition testing and analyze protocol behavior at different layers.

Failure Analysis & Defect Management :

- Perform root-cause analysis of test failures using logs and diagnostic tools.

- Identify software defects, file detailed bug reports, and track them through closure.

- Work closely with development teams to validate fixes and retest resolved issues.

Call Processing & Troubleshooting :

- Analyze end-to-end call flows and throughput issues as per 3GPP standards.

- Troubleshoot and reproduce customer-reported issues; provide detailed logs and insights for debugging.

- Support debugging activities related to protocol stack failures and KPI deviations.

Collaboration & Reporting :

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, systems, and customer engineering.

- Prepare clear and concise test reports, results summaries, and defect documentation.

- Ensure timely updates, maintain testing discipline, and follow established QA processes.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 2- 8 years of hands-on experience in LTE/5G UE protocol testing.

- Strong understanding of LTE/5G call flows, NAS/RRC/RLC/MAC/PHY layers.

- Good knowledge of 3GPP standards for GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, LTE, and 5G NR.

- Experience with protocol analyzers, log analysis tools, and UE simulators.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in protocol-level debugging.

- Experience with throughput testing, performance evaluation, and stability testing.

- Ability to understand, interpret, and debug detailed call flows.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with test automation frameworks for protocol testing.

- Familiarity with test tools such as Anritsu, R&S, Keysight, or similar UE simulators.

- Knowledge of scripting (Python, Shell) for automation (optional but a plus).

- Prior exposure to customer issue reproduction and triage.
