Job Summary :

The TM1 Manager will lead a team of Finance Systems Support professionals responsible for the comprehensive administration, maintenance, and operational support of IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) modules.

This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills, encompassing team management, escalation handling, task prioritization, and providing subject matter expertise for finance system upgrades and optimization projects.

Key Responsibilities :

TM1 Administration & Data Maintenance :

- Oversee and ensure the accurate management and updating of attributes, dimensions, and complex hierarchies (e.g., Business Units, Entities).

- Define and implement processes for regular updates to maintain data integrity and consistency across the system.

- Strategically coordinate and validate all rate updates (e.g., cost rates, forex rates, tax rates) with Finance and business teams, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

Data Integrity & Reconciliation :

- Establish best practices and lead complex data reconciliations between TM1 and diverse source systems (ERP/SQL).

- Drive the analysis of complex reconciliation reports, guide the investigation of significant variances, and ensure timely resolution of data anomalies.

- Design, implement, and audit robust integrity checks to ensure system accuracy and completeness.

Mapping & Master Data Management :

- Develop strategies for maintaining and updating complex mapping tables based on periodic reviews and evolving business requirements.

- Oversee the validation of all mapping changes with key stakeholders and ensure seamless, accurate, and timely deployment.

- Ensure the accuracy and up-to-date status of all project and master data mappings, mitigating risks proactively.

Month-End Close Support :

- Lead the coordination with Finance teams on month-end schedules, define, and communicate comprehensive close timelines and expectations.

- Oversee the publication of daily dashboards and detailed progress reports, providing strategic insights and managing expectations during close activities.

- Direct the execution of soft and hard close processes in TM1, meticulously validate data completeness, and ensure data integrity before period closure.

Reporting & Data Extraction :

- Guide the generation of complex ad hoc reports and data extracts using SQL and advanced TM1 views.

- Provide expert support and strategic guidance to Finance teams for one-off analysis and intricate reporting needs.

- Ensure strict adherence to data confidentiality and security protocols in all reporting activities.

Issue Management & Operational Support :

- Act as a primary point of escalation for complex TM1 system issues, performing and guiding root cause analysis, and overseeing resolution strategies.

- Effectively manage and direct the escalation of unresolved issues to technical support or managed services teams, ensuring prompt attention.

- Proactively monitor system performance, identify and mitigate potential risks, and implement preventative and optimization strategies.

Project & Continuous Improvement Support :

- Lead and manage participation in critical finance system projects, major upgrades, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.

- Provide expert subject matter expertise and strategic inputs on system design improvements and significant process optimizations.

- Ensure comprehensive and high-quality documentation of all processes, mappings, and updates.

- Identify, champion, and implement opportunities to automate and streamline TM1 operations, driving significant efficiency gains.

Team Leadership & Escalations :

- Lead, mentor, and develop a small to medium-sized team (3-10 members) managing BAU and month-end activities.

- Handle task allocation, prioritization, performance management, and team wellness initiatives.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external escalations during peak periods and critical operations.

- Drive process improvement discussions and foster cross-team collaboration within the finance systems domain.

Skills and Qualifications :

Essential :

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

- 7 to 8 years of relevant experience in :

- Financial systems support or planning tool administration (TM1 strongly preferred).

- Comprehensive data maintenance, complex reconciliation, and managing financial close processes.

- Expert hands-on experience with TM1 for :

- Cube design, attribute management, complex data loading, and advanced rule writing (Rules, Feeders, TI Processes).

- Designing, managing, and optimizing mapping tables and complex dimension hierarchies.

- Advanced working knowledge of SQL for complex data extraction, manipulation, and reconciliation.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve highly complex, critical issues.

- Outstanding communication, coordination, and executive-level stakeholder management skills.

- Proven ability to strategically manage multiple priorities, lead projects, and consistently meet stringent deadlines.

- Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and managing a team.

- Ability to prioritize and effectively manage escalations during peak periods and high-pressure situations.

Preferred :

- Extensive hands-on experience with IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) and PAx, including advanced dashboard development and administration.

- Strong experience in finance data workflows (budgeting, forecasting, or consolidation) at an enterprise level, including process re-engineering.

- Proven experience in working collaboratively and strategically with cross-functional finance and IT teams, influencing outcomes.

- Experience with cloud deployments related to TM1 and performance optimization in such environments.

- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP).
