Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Mainframe System Support Consultant with a strong technical background in mainframe infrastructure and production support.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining system uptime, handling incident management, and ensuring performance optimization across mainframe environments.

This role requires strong analytical skills, in-depth technical knowledge of mainframe systems, and the ability to troubleshoot critical production issues in a timely manner.


Key Responsibilities :


- Provide L2/L3 support for Mainframe systems in a 24x7 production environment.

- Perform system monitoring, incident analysis, and problem resolution.

- Manage z/OS, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, and other core mainframe technologies.

- Support batch processing and perform recovery activities in case of job or system failures.

- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure system reliability and performance.

- Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning, testing, and execution.

- Execute routine system maintenance tasks including patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.

- Document system changes and operational procedures following ITIL standards.

- Maintain compliance with organization security and audit requirements.

- Ensure SLA adherence and timely communication on production incidents.

- Proactively identify areas of improvement in system stability and automation.


Required Qualifications :

- Minimum 6+ years of experience in Mainframe system support.

- Strong knowledge in z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, RACF, DB2, CICS, CA-7, or equivalent tools.

- Experience in managing production environments, troubleshooting abends, and resolving system issues.

- Solid understanding of mainframe infrastructure components and job scheduling tools.

- Hands-on experience with performance monitoring and incident management.

- Good understanding of change and release management processes.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and on-call support as required.


Preferred Qualifications :


- Exposure to Agile or DevOps culture.

- Knowledge of mainframe modernization tools or processes.

- Familiarity with automation scripts/tools for job management.

- Experience in healthcare, banking, or insurance domains is a plus
