About the Role :
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Test Lead with 5-7 years of experience to join our remote team. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of our financial services systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test suites for data pipelines, APIs, and complex business logic. Working closely with our UK-based onshore team, you will ensure that all testing efforts meet stringent regulatory and audit requirements. The position requires a strong technical background in test automation and a solid understanding of data integrity.
Key Responsibilities :
- Test Automation Strategy : Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for a variety of systems, including data pipelines, APIs, and complex logic within calculation and rule engines.
- Test Scenario Creation : Interpret intricate business rules and regulatory requirements to create detailed test scenarios and automated scripts.
- Collaboration : Work closely with onshore QA leads, developers, and business analysts to ensure comprehensive test coverage that aligns with regulatory outcomes.
- Execution & Defect Management : Execute a variety of tests, including regression, integration, and end-to-end testing. Actively raise, track, and perform root cause analysis on defects, and support their resolution.
- Documentation & Compliance : Ensure all test artifacts, such as test scripts, results, and traceability matrices, are meticulously documented and auditable to meet regulatory expectations.
- Process Improvement : Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our test automation frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
- Agile Participation : Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- 5-7 years of experience in automated software testing, with a strong preference for candidates from financial services or other highly regulated environments.
- Strong proficiency in one or more automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Postman (for API testing).
- Solid scripting experience with a programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with SQL and experience in ETL/data validation testing, ideally on cloud platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of a distributed, offshore team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a deep understanding of data integrity and auditability.
- Good communication skills, as you will be working directly with UK-based clients with work timings aligned to their time zone.
Desirable Skills :
- Experience in remediation, redress, or regulatory compliance programs.
- Exposure to UK financial services or regulatory standards (FCA, DISP, CONC).
- Understanding of Gherkin/Cucumber for Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
- Knowledge of test data management and synthetic data generation approaches.
