Teradata Developer - Erwin/SQL

Job Description

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business requirements.

- Implement and manage data models using tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or similar.

- Leverage deep knowledge of Teradata FSLDM (Financial Services Logical Data Model) for effective implementation and optimization.

- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data analysis, validation, and transformation.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of data models with business goals and governance standards.

- Develop and maintain metadata repositories and ensure proper metadata management practices.

- Provide documentation for data models, mappings, and related processes.

- Apply best practices in data warehousing, medallion architecture, and data governance.

- Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting of Teradata queries and workloads.

- Identify and resolve data quality issues through root cause analysis.

- Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in data modeling, metadata management, and related tools (e.g., Erwin, ER/Studio).

- Strong understanding of data modeling principles and data lifecycle management.

- Expertise in Teradata FSLDM structure, standards, and implementation.

- Solid knowledge of Teradata SQL, utilities, performance tuning, and optimization.

- Experience with data warehousing concepts and medallion architecture.

- Proficiency in documenting models, data flows, and governance policies.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- Understanding of metadata management practices.

- Knowledge of the insurance domain and related data structures (preferred).

Nice to Have :

- Experience in data governance tools and frameworks.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

- Industry certifications related to data modeling or Teradata.
