Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Scala Developer with 4+ years of software product development experience to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend services that support business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Scala and Functional Programming principles.

- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices using the Play Framework.

- Develop highly reliable and low-latency services capable of handling high transaction volumes.

- Design event-driven and distributed systems using Apache Kafka.

- Work with Elasticsearch for search, indexing, and data retrieval requirements.

- Develop efficient queries and data models using SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Work with Cassandra and other distributed databases where required.

- Analyze technical requirements, participate in architecture discussions, and contribute to system design decisions.

- Write clean, maintainable, testable, and production-ready code following software engineering best practices.

- Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and production issues and implement effective solutions.

- Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other developers to deliver high-quality product features.

- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Tech Stack & Requirements :

- 4+ years of experience in software product development.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Scala and Functional Programming.

- Experience developing applications using Play Framework and REST-based microservices.

- Hands-on experience with Kafka and Elasticsearch.

- Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Familiarity with Cassandra and distributed data stores.

- Experience building low-latency, high-throughput/high-transactional services.

- Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, API design, and scalable backend architecture.

- Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively in an agile and collaborative development environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with cloud platforms and containerized environments such as Docker/Kubernetes.

- Understanding of CI/CD practices and automated testing.

- Experience with performance optimization and production troubleshooting.

- Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous programming.
