About the Role :
We are seeking experienced, self-directed Techno/Functional PeopleSoft Consultants for a 6-month+ remote contract to provide critical support for our legacy PeopleSoft platform. This is essential coverage while core teams focus on a Workday implementation.
The ideal candidates must possess a strong dual profile, combining technical development expertise with a deep functional understanding of core HCM modules. Ability to align working hours with EST (Eastern Standard Time) is highly desirable.
Responsibilities :
- Technical Development & Support : Act as a core technical developer to maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot the existing PeopleSoft environment, addressing production issues and implementing bug fixes across modules.
- Functional Expertise : Apply deep functional knowledge of key modules, including PeopleSoft Payroll, Time and Labor (T&L), and HCM Core, to understand business processes and system configuration.
- Requirements Analysis & Business Liaison : Work techno/functionally to receive and translate business requirements directly from stakeholders and business partners into technical specifications, serving as a knowledgeable liaison.
- Module Configuration : Perform necessary configuration changes, table updates, and business process adjustments within the PeopleSoft application, particularly for annual changes or regulatory updates.
- Customization & Reporting : Develop and maintain PeopleSoft customizations, interfaces, reports (e.g., using SQR, PeopleTools, BI Publisher), and integration points.
- Self-Directed Work : Operate as a self-directed individual, taking ownership of tasks from requirement definition through testing and deployment with minimal supervision.
- Process Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive technical and functional documentation for supported modules and custom components.
Required Skill Set (Mandatory Skills) :
- Experience : Strong, demonstrated professional experience supporting enterprise-level PeopleSoft HCM environments (assumed 7+ years based on dual role).
- Dual Expertise : Proven ability to function effectively in both a Technical (Developer) and Functional (Configurator/Analyst) capacity within PeopleSoft.
- Module Proficiency : Expert functional and technical knowledge of PeopleSoft Payroll, Time and Labor (T&L), and HCM Core modules.
- PeopleTools Development : Strong technical development skills using PeopleTools (PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker, Component Interface).
- SQL : Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex queries, troubleshooting, and data validation against the PeopleSoft database.
- Business Interaction : Demonstrated experience interacting directly with business partners to gather requirements and advise on best practices.
- Working Hours : Capability to work hours that overlap significantly with EST (Eastern Standard Time).
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with other PeopleSoft modules (Absence Management, Benefits).
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as SQR and BI Publisher.
- Prior experience supporting a legacy system during an organizational migration to a new platform (Workday).
