Job Description

Job Purpose :


The purpose of the Technical Project Manager at Company is to manage and control all projects for the assigned internal customer/function. Own the solution delivery (from user specifications to development to testing to systems integration) and be ultimately responsible for the delivery of the project. Ensure uptime of the system in production/operations and adherence to performance SLAs. Handle technical team management and provide regular status reporting to the Head of Technology.


Key Responsibilities :

Strategic :


- Interact directly with the Business Analyst and/or Operational Teams to understand their needs and issues. Provide business and technical solutions to existing problems/requirements and enhance customer satisfaction on a continuous basis.

- Vet the Technical Design prior to implementation.

- Decide on the delivery approach and manage scope (scope definition, planning, verification, and control) of all projects for the business.

- Budgeting and estimation of resources and time for each project delivery. Create a robust business case for the project and obtain required approvals.

- Analyze and interpret the business requirements for technical systems (generally within IT).

- Analyze and evaluate roadmaps of new technology and opportunities.

- Own all aspects of Project Management and ensure timely roll-out within budget.


Operational / Project Management :


- Put together the right team of technical resources.

- Prioritize and schedule the project in line with business requirements, resource availability, and criticality of the solution.

- Ensure all aspects of a projec t- i.e., Business Requirements, Approvals, Delivery Plan (including Testing) - are monitored and tracked closely.

- Handle technical operations and serve as the single point of contact for Business Analyst and Business Operations.

- Provide leadership for direct delivery (project) teams to deliver within the required timeframe, as per specifications and of the highest quality.

- Serve as the escalation point for all development and production issues specific to projects.

- Extract and own all risk for a project and track it regularly. Prepare mitigation plans for all risks and keep all stakeholders informed.

- Maintain a rhythm for MIS and reporting of all projects and their progress.


Team Management :


- Manage the project team to deliver as per the required quality and timelines.

- Build rapport with all technical resources for products associated with the business, for a smooth working relationship.

- Manage all vendor-related issues, progress, and performance.


Work Experience :

- 8 - 10 years of experience with at least 2 years of experience in owning an application end-to-end (development and support).


Educational Qualification :


- BE/MCA from a reputed university or Graduate with MCS/MBA from a reputed university.


Skills :


- Budgeting and Estimation


- Technical expertise (preferably JAVA) / knowledge of the business and the products used by them

- Knowledge and understanding of databases (Oracle preferred)

- Understanding of the Exchange operations and business

- Techno-commercial ability


- Client servicing / relationship management
