Key Responsibilities :
Technical Leadership & Governance :
- Lead and manage the ABAP, Basis, Fiori, and CPI teams, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
- Define technical standards, development guidelines, and clean-core compliant extensibility frameworks.
- Review technical designs (TDDs), integration specs, and Basis architecture documents.
- Oversee transport management, system landscape strategy, and release planning.
- Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, security guidelines, and coding standards (ATC, SCI, Code Inspector).
Delivery Management :
- Own end-to-end delivery for all technical tracks across S/4HANA and SAP BTP.
- Drive solutioning for change requests, new capabilities, upgrades, and integrations.
- Track progress, mitigate risks, manage technical debt, and ensure smooth cutovers.
- Coordinate with functional, testing, infra, and project management teams.
- Manage vendor teams, contractors, and internal development resources.
ABAP Development Oversight :
- Review custom developments, CDS views, RAP models, enhancements, BADIs, and interfaces.
- Ensure scalable, performance-optimized ABAP solutions aligned with clean core.
- Guide team on S/4HANA simplification items and custom code remediation.
SAP Basis & Infrastructure Oversight :
- Oversee system administration, upgrades, kernel patches, client strategy, and system copies.
- Manage performance tuning, background jobs, transports, and SAProuter/SOAMANAGER configurations.
- Ensure system reliability, HA/DR readiness, and proactive monitoring via Solution Manager/ALM.
- Collaborate with hosting partners for cloud (RISE/IAS/IPS/BTP) infrastructure coordination.
Fiori/UI5 & UX Development :
- Guide Fiori app development, extensibility, and activation of standard SAP Fiori apps.
- Define UX strategy, launchpad configuration, catalogs/groups/roles.
- Ensure adoption of SAP UI5 best practices and design guidelines.
CPI Integration Management :
- Govern all integrations via SAP CPI (Cloud Integration), API Management, Event Mesh.
- Review iFlow designs, connectivity, mappings, error handling, monitoring, and logging.
- Ensure integration security (OAuth, certificates, APIs, Principal Propagation).
Stakeholder & Team Management :
- Collaborate with business, functional, and architecture teams for solution design.
- Present technical proposals, impact assessments, and effort estimations.
- Mentor and upskill team members; drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience :
Technical Skills :
- 15+ years of SAP experience with at least 3-5 years in a technical leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of ABAP / ABAP on HANA / CDS / RAP.
- Strong expertise in SAP Basis, including S/4HANA, Solution Manager/ALM, and transport management.
- Hands-on experience in Fiori/UI5 development and Launchpad configuration.
- Extensive knowledge of SAP CPI / API Management / BTP Integration Suite.
- Experience with upgrades, conversions, clean-core implementation, and extensibility.
- Performance tuning and integration optimization expertise.
Leadership & Management Skills :
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong vendor management and delivery governance experience.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- SAP certifications in ABAP, Basis, Fiori, or BTP/CPI.
- Experience in multi-country rollouts and S/4HANA implementations.
- Background in regulated industries such as Pharma .
- Familiarity with JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, gCTS, and automation tools.
