Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Python Technical Lead / Backend Architect to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) layers.

The role involves driving backend architecture and API development while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions supporting critical business workflows.

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable backend services and BFF layers using Python.

- Build and maintain REST APIs using FastAPI and Uvicorn.

- Implement data validation, error handling, dependency injection, and asynchronous programming.

- Design and develop microservices-based applications and service-to-service integrations.

- Ensure effective backend integration, API performance, reliability, and maintainability.

- Design and execute unit, integration, and API tests.

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across application layers.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.

- Follow coding standards, security practices, and established software development methodologies.

- Support deployment, release management, production troubleshooting, and incident resolution.

- Take ownership of technical deliverables and contribute to technical design and architectural decisions.

Requirements :

- 10 - 15 years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on Python development experience.

- Strong proficiency in Python 3.x, preferably Python 3.10 or later.

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with FastAPI and Uvicorn.

- Strong experience in REST API design, development, and backend engineering.

- Experience building or maintaining Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architectures.

- Good understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and service-to-service communication.

- Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming, dependency injection, data validation, and error handling.

- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and backend API testing.

- Proficiency in Git and familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- At least 2 years of experience with Angular is preferred.

- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native application development, authentication, session management, and token-based security is desirable.

- Familiarity with release management, deployment troubleshooting, SBOM generation, and production support is an advantage.

- Experience in scientific or laboratory workflow applications would be beneficial.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical ownership skills.
