Technical Design & Network Architect - LAN/WAN

Role Title : Technical Design & Network Architect.

Location : Chennai.

Experience : 9+ Years.

Key Responsibilities :

Solution Design & Architecture :

- Deliver highand low-level designs (HLD/LLD) for LAN, WAN, Data Centre, and Security infrastructures.

- Support migrations from legacy platforms to modern solutions (Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, multi-vendor firewalls, hybrid cloud).

- Ensure designs align with Vodafone's enterprise standards and M&S's Zero Trust strategy.

Implementation & Transition Support :

- Create implementation and migration plans (CRQs, MoPs).

- Provide offshore technical support for network changes, migrations, and upgrades.

- Support configuration, deployment, and integration of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, and load balancers.

Security & Compliance :

- Design and validate firewall and segmentation policies across Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, and Cisco platforms.

- Enable secure hybrid cloud networking on Azure and AWS (VNet, ExpressRoute, Transit Gateway, WAF, NSG).

- Align solutions to ITIL, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS standards.

Operational Readiness & Documentation :

- Produce detailed design and implementation documentation (LLD, BOMs, migration runbooks).

- Support offshore knowledge management and structured handovers.

- Provide remote escalation support to onsite 24x7 assurance teams.

Collaboration & Governance :

- Engage with onsite design authorities and architects to validate solutions.

- Participate in design reviews, change boards, and compliance reviews.

- Mentor offshore engineers, building a deep technical pool aligned to Vodafone/M&S engagements.

Required Skills & Experience :

Networking & Data Centre :

- Cisco ACI Spine/Leaf, Nexus (2K-9K), Catalyst series, Cisco SD-WAN/Viptela.

- Routing & Switching : BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, VXLAN, L2VPN/L3VPN.

Security :

- Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto (Panorama), Fortinet FortiGate, Check Point R77/R80+.

- Zero Trust principles (micro-segmentation, least privilege, identity integration).

Cloud & Virtualisation :

- Azure (VNets, ExpressRoute, NSG, Application Gateway, Front Door).

- AWS (VPC, Transit Gateway, WAF, CloudFront).

- VMware NSX, VMWare SDN, Kubernetes networking.

- Load Balancing & Application Delivery : F5 LTM/GTM, Citrix NetScaler, Radware Alteon.

- Automation & Tooling : Python, Ansible, Terraform, Cisco DNA Center, SolarWinds, ServiceNow ITSM.

- Methodologies : Strong ITIL, Agile, and PMP/Prince2-aligned project delivery experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

- CCNP/CCIE (Enterprise, Data Centre, Security).

- AWS/Azure Solutions Architect certifications.

- Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet NSE4+, Check Point CCSA/CCSE.

- TOGAF, ITIL v3/v4 Foundation.
