Technical Business Analyst - Treasury Management System

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst (FX) with deep understanding of foreign exchange (FX) trading and post-trade operations. The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, leveraging both domain expertise in currency markets and technical proficiency to design, deliver, and enhance FX trading solutions.

You will play a key role in driving business requirements, analyzing trade lifecycle processes, and supporting development, testing, and delivery of technology solutions aligned with front-to-back FX trade processing.

Key Responsibilities :

- Work closely with front office, middle office, and back-office teams to understand FX business processes, trading flows, and system dependencies.

- Elicit and document functional and non-functional requirements for FX trading systems (Trade Capture, Confirmation, Settlement, and Reporting).

- Translate business objectives into detailed user stories, process flows, and functional specifications for development teams.

- Identify process gaps and propose automation or system enhancement opportunities.

- Deep understanding of FX products such as Spot, Forward, NDF, Options, and Swaps.

- Familiarity with FX trade lifecycle, including :

- Trade Capture and Booking

- Trade Enrichment

- Trade Confirmation (including MT300/MT320 messages)

- Settlement and Netting (MT202, MT210, MT300, etc.)

- Confirmation Matching and Trade Reconciliation

- Experience with SWIFT and MT message flows, ISO 20022 standards, and connectivity frameworks.

- Understanding of FX platforms and systems such as Murex, Calypso, Wallstreet, or in-house trade capture systems is a strong advantage.

- Collaborate with technology teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, data mappings, and interface definitions.

- Work with developers on system design, data model validation, and integration with upstream/downstream systems (e.g., pricing, risk, settlement).

- Hands-on involvement in testing reviewing test cases, validating system behavior, and coordinating UAT.

- Provide inputs for API specifications, data dictionaries, and integration documentation.

- Serve as the key liaison between business users, development teams, and QA.

- Conduct walkthrough sessions, workshops, and demonstrations with business stakeholders.

- Ensure alignment between technology solutions and evolving FX business strategies.

- Manage stakeholder expectations and track project progress, risks, and dependencies.

- Perform data analysis using SQL or other tools to validate trade data, investigate discrepancies, and support reconciliations.

- Support creation of MI (Management Information) and regulatory reports related to FX transactions.

- Work with QA teams to define data validation scenarios and automation scripts where applicable.

- Ensure all solutions comply with regulatory and operational risk standards (e.g., MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MAS, etc.).

- Support internal audits, documentation, and traceability of business requirements.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 9 to 12 years of total experience, with at least 5+ years as a Business Analyst in FX or Treasury systems within investment banking or financial services.

- Strong knowledge of FX/currency exchange markets, trade lifecycle, and post-trade processing.

- Hands-on experience in SWIFT MT messaging standards (MT300, MT320, MT202, MT210, etc.) and familiarity with ISO 20022 messaging.

- Experience documenting functional requirements, BRDs, FRDs, and user stories.

- Practical exposure to at least one technology stack Java, Python, or .NET (ability to understand data models, APIs, or scripts).

- Solid understanding of integration patterns, message queues (Kafka, MQ), and REST/SOAP APIs.

- Proficiency with SQL, JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar BA tools.

- Excellent communication and analytical skills with ability to interact effectively across business and IT stakeholders.
