About the Role : Technical Architect - Banking & Payments | Remote, India | Long-Term Contract

We are looking for an experienced Technical Architect with 12-15 years of experience to define, design, and govern end-to-end technical architecture for enterprise applications and integration platforms within the banking and payments domain.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing scalable, secure, highly available, and resilient solutions, while providing architectural direction to engineering teams.

The role will involve driving architecture decisions across APIs, integrations, data, cloud, security, performance, and non-functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and govern end-to-end technical architecture for enterprise applications, payment platforms, and integration solutions.

- Design scalable, secure, highly available, and resilient technology solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.

- Develop and maintain architecture standards, principles, reference architectures, and design guidelines.

- Lead architectural decisions across APIs, system integrations, data architecture, cloud platforms, security, and application design.

- Review solution and technical designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.

- Provide technical guidance and architectural direction to engineering and development teams.

- Design and evaluate integration patterns across internal systems, external platforms, APIs, and third-party services.

- Ensure architecture supports end-to-end payment flows, transaction processing, reconciliation, and downstream/upstream integrations.

- Define and validate non-functional requirements covering performance, scalability, availability, reliability, security, and disaster recovery.

- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and architectural gaps and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, engineering teams, security teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors.

- Evaluate technology choices and recommend appropriate platforms, frameworks, and architectural approaches.

- Ensure solutions adhere to applicable security, regulatory, compliance, and enterprise technology standards.

- Support architecture governance, technical reviews, design walkthroughs, and implementation planning.

- Contribute to modernization, cloud adoption, platform optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications :

- 12-15 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or technical architecture, with significant experience in enterprise environments.

- Strong experience designing and governing large-scale, business-critical applications and integration platforms.

- Good understanding of payment processing, transaction lifecycles, payment flows, and reconciliation processes.

- Proven experience working across API, integration, data, cloud, security, and infrastructure architecture.

- Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, performance optimization, and system resilience.

- Experience working with cross-functional engineering, product, business, security, and infrastructure teams.

- Strong architectural governance, stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills.

- Experience in banking, financial services, payments, or other regulated environments is preferred.
