About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Java Lead with strong, hands-on expertise in Jaspersoft/JasperReports Server to lead the development, upgrade, and security hardening of our enterprise reporting platform.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead hands-on development, customization, and upgrade of Jaspersoft/JasperReports Server from 6.x to the latest supported version.

- Assess the existing JasperReports Server architecture, deployment model, configurations, customizations, and dependencies.

- Define and execute the upgrade and migration strategy, including sequencing, dependencies, rollback approach, and validation.

- Identify and resolve version compatibility issues across JasperReports, Java, Tomcat, databases, authentication mechanisms, and integrations.

- Review and update existing Jasper reports, data sources, repositories, extensions, and custom components for upgrade impact.

- Write and review Java code for custom reports, plugins, and integrations within the JasperReports ecosystem.

- Assess current Jasper security configuration and identify security gaps; define and implement a security hardening strategy.

- Lead the implementation and validation of enterprise authentication integrations, including SSO, SAML, OAuth, and LDAP/Active Directory.

- Develop and maintain Java-based components, customizations, and integrations within the JasperReports Server environment.

- Define and execute the migration approach for application configurations, repositories, reports, users, roles, permissions, and integrations.

- Act as the technical lead for Jasper development, upgrade, and security initiatives; guide and mentor engineering team members.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 10+ years of overall IT experience, with strong hands-on Java development expertise.

- Strong, hands-on experience with Jaspersoft/JasperReports Server - development, customization, administration, and architecture.

- Proven experience performing JasperReports Server version upgrades (6.x to newer/latest versions).

- Strong experience with: Java (core development), Apache Tomcat, Linux, Relational databases.

- Strong experience with enterprise authentication and identity technologies: SSO, SAML, OAuth, LDAP, Active Directory.

- Strong understanding of application security, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation.

- Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical leadership capabilities.
