About the Role :

We're building a next-gen, AI-first matrimonial platform designed for modern India-blending behavioural intelligence, cultural nuance, high empathy systems, and deep personalization.

We're looking for a Tech Lead with strong AI/ML instincts, who can architect, build, and scale the entire intelligence stack while guiding engineering teams toward an ambitious product roadmap.

This is a zero-to-one leadership role : you'll shape the technical blueprint, own the AI backbone, and build features that feel magical, trustworthy, and deeply human.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Architecture & Technology Leadership :

- Own the full technical architecture for the platform-backend, ML pipelines, recommendation systems, and safety layers.

- Build scalable, modular systems that support millions of profiles, interactions, and behavioural signals.

- Lead decisions on cloud infra, data storage, AI model hosting, vector DBs, and real-time processing.

2. AI/ML Systems Development :

- Design and build recommendation algorithms, compatibility scoring engines, ranking models, and natural-language-based analysis.

Develop models for :

a. Behaviour prediction

b. Profile authenticity scoring

c. Toxicity / fraud detection

d. Conversation starters & profile generation

- Own MLOps : feature stores, CI/CD for ML, versioning, evaluation, monitoring.

3. Data Strategy & Intelligence Layer :

- Define data schema, tracking frameworks, and micro-signals required for personalization.

- Build pipelines to transform raw behavioural data into actionable intelligence.

- Implement feedback loops for continuous model improvement.

4. Product Engineering Leadership :

- Translate the 12-month AI roadmap into quarterly engineering plans.

- Work closely with Product, Design & Founders to prioritize features.

- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team-full stack, ML engineers, data engineers.

5. Security, Privacy & Safety :

- Implement strong verification systems, anomaly detection, safety checks, and data governance.

- Ensure full compliance with Indian data protection norms and platform safety expectations.

- Build trustworthy AI that is transparent, fair, and explainable.

6. Execution & Delivery :

- Drive sprints, releases, documentation, and system performance optimization.

- Maintain a builder culture : rapid iteration + high code quality.

- Own platform uptime, scalability, and reliability.

- AI Profile Makeover Assistant (bio rewriting, video guidance)

- Compatibility Constellations engine

- Behavioural prediction-based matchmaking

- Parent-friendly Family Mode intelligence

- AI Safety Guardian (fraud, harassment, anomaly detection)

- Video-based sentiment & communication analysis

- Hyper-personalized filters

- Voice-based intent matching

- Post-match wedding journey AI companion

You'll be shaping the entire AI "nervous system" of the platform.

Qualifications :

Must-Have :

- 6-10 years in backend + AI/ML engineering.

- Strong experience with recommendation systems, NLP, embeddings, user modelling, or ranking problems.

- Hands-on knowledge of Python, Node/Go/Java, PyTorch/TensorFlow, SQL/NoSQL.

- Experience with vector databases (Pinecone/Milvus/FAISS).

- Strong understanding of MLOps, orchestration, and scalable pipelines.

- Prior experience building customer-facing intelligence products.

- Ability to design clean architectures and mentor engineering teams.

Good-to-Have :

- Experience in social platforms, dating apps, or recommendation-heavy products.

- Exposure to computer vision (for photo/video signals).

- Familiarity with GenAI (LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines).

- Passion for building empathetic, culturally aware AI experiences for India.
