System Engineer - Patch Management

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and support Windows and Linux servers, including installation, configuration, patching and upgrades.

- Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize database performance (SQL) including queries, stored procedures, indexing, and backups.

- Deploy and manage scalable infrastructure and services on AWS Cloud (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch etc.).

- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, uptime and system reliability across production and staging environments.

- Automate routine tasks using Bash/PowerShell/Python scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

- Manage access control, infrastructure security, and compliance within cloud and on-prem systems.

- Troubleshoot system incidents, diagnose root causes, and implement permanent fixes.

- Participate in disaster recovery planning, backup strategy, and failover processes.

- Monitor system resources using infrastructure monitoring tools and provide proactive support.

- Maintain documentation for configurations, troubleshooting procedures, architecture diagrams and compliance audits.

- Provide on-call / rotational support for production environments as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.

- 3 6 years of hands-on experience as a System Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer / IT Operations

Engineer.

- Strong practical experience in Windows and Linux operating systems administration.

- Solid knowledge of SQL (MySQL / PostgreSQL / MS SQL Server) including backup, replication and performance tuning.

- Demonstrated experience in AWS services (compute, storage, networking, security and monitoring).
