System Administrator - SAP Basis/ECC Platform

Job Description :

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated System Basis Administrator with at least 3 years of relevant experience to join our team. This individual will play a key role in the administration, optimization, and troubleshooting of SAP NetWeaver ABAP/Java systems and databases. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in database management, SAP system administration, and a deep understanding of the technical aspects related to the SAP landscape.

Key Responsibilities :

SAP System Administration :

- Administer and maintain SAP Netweaver ABAP and Java systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

- Handle version, support pack, and kernel upgrades of SAP Netweaver ABAP/Java systems.

- Perform routine monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of SAP ECC, BI, PI, SCM, and Solution Manager systems.

Database Administration :

- Manage and optimize Oracle, SAP HANA, and MaxDB databases, including installation, configuration, and regular upkeep.

- Implement and manage database replication technologies such as Oracle Data Guard (ODG) and HANA DB replication via log shipping.

- Ensure the proper functioning of database backup and restore procedures, using tools like BRTools.

- Manage full and delta cache refresh of SAP PI systems.

Performance Tuning and Monitoring :

- Proactively monitor and fine-tune SAP systems for peak performance.

- Use tools to monitor the health and performance of SAP Netweaver Java stacks and databases.

- Troubleshoot system issues related to performance bottlenecks and implement solutions.

SAP Transport Management and Solution Manager :

- Administer SAP Transport Management System (TMS) for seamless transportation of system objects.

- Work with SAP Solution Managers ChaRM, Incident, and Problem Management functionalities to manage and resolve technical issues.

Security and Configuration :

- Manage security settings, including SSL configurations and digital certificates for SAP PI.

- Ensure compliance with security protocols and best practices in SAP environments.

- Handle ALE settings and ensure smooth integration between systems.

Programming and Development :

- Develop and debug applications within the SAP environment, ensuring alignment with functional and technical specifications.

- Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and implement necessary improvements.

- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation in alignment with BPCL templates.

Project Management :

- Collaborate in medium and large-scale projects, providing expert advice and handling the technical aspects of SAP Basis operations.

- Work closely with functional teams to ensure smooth project execution and system integration.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- In-depth knowledge of SAP Netweaver ABAP/Java architecture and components.

- Proficiency in database administration for Oracle, SAP HANA, and MaxDB.

- Experience with SAP version, support pack, and kernel upgrades for ABAP/Java systems.

- Expertise in troubleshooting SAP ECC and other SAP systems such as BI, PI, SCM, and Solution Manager.

- Strong knowledge of database replication technologies (e.g., Oracle Data Guard, HANA DB replication via log shipping).

- Experience with SAP Transport Management System (TMS).

- Hands-on experience with UNIX and Linux operating systems.

- Knowledge of full and delta cache refresh for PI systems.

Performance and Security Management :

- Familiarity with SAP systems performance tuning.

- In-depth knowledge of security configurations in PI, including SSL and digital certificates.

- Experience in monitoring and optimizing SAP systems and databases.

Programming Skills :

- Strong programming skills, including debugging, identifying bug fixes, and performance improvements in the SAP ecosystem.

- Ability to develop applications and create detailed technical documentation as per organizational standards.

Certifications & Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- SAP certifications in relevant areas (e.g., SAP Basis) are a plus.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience working in large-scale enterprise SAP environments.

- Familiarity with troubleshooting and administration of SAP systems in both on-premise and cloud-based environments.
