The DLP Engineer - II is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions across cloud, endpoint, and SaaS platforms. This role owns policy development, incident response, and continuous improvement of data protection controls while partnering with security, compliance, and application teams to reduce data-exposure risk.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and manage DLP policies across cloud, endpoint, email, and SaaS platforms (Microsoft Purview, Defender, CASB).

- Lead DLP incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and remediation activities.

- Classify sensitive data (PII, PHI, PCI, IP) and align controls with business risk.

- Tune DLP rules to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy.

- Integrate DLP controls with AWS and Azure workloads, including storage, email, and collaboration services.

- Partner with compliance teams on GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, and PCI-DSS requirements.

- Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and DLP architecture documentation.

- Support audits and provide evidence related to data protection controls.

- Mentor junior DLP engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).

- 3 - 6 years of experience in DLP, cloud security, SOC, or information security roles.

- Strong understanding of DLP architecture, data classification, and encryption technologies.

- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview DLP and Defender for Cloud Apps.

- Working knowledge of AWS and Azure security services.

- Experience with endpoint and email DLP solutions.

- Ability to analyze logs, alerts, and forensic data to drive remediation.

- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python).

- Experience integrating DLP with SIEM/SOAR platforms.

- Security certifications such as SC-100, SC-200, AZ-500, CISSP (or in progress).
