Synon Developer - IBM iSeries

Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Synon Developer to support and enhance our core business applications running on IBM iSeries (AS/400) using CA 2E (Synon). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high system availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Support existing Synon-based applications, including troubleshooting issues, implementing enhancements, and performing bug fixes.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, system administrators, and other developers, to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.

- Participate in the full software development life cycle (SDLC) from analysis and design through implementation, testing, and deployment.

- Ensure high system availability, performance, and reliability of Synon applications.

- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).

- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, designs, and processes.

- Optimize Synon code and iSeries configurations for improved performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Strong proficiency in IBM iSeries (AS/400) environments.

- Hands-on experience with Synon/2E design, development, and maintenance.

- Solid understanding of DB2/400 database concepts and SQL on iSeries.

- Familiarity with CL (Control Language) programming on iSeries.

- Experience with source code management and deployment processes on iSeries.

- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Knowledge of batch job processing and scheduling on iSeries.

- Familiarity with change management tools on iSeries.
